国際ロータリーゾーン1A,2&3「第54回ロータリー研究会」
（会場：パシフィコ横浜／開催：2025.11.19-11.20）

本研究会において、
ロータリー第一地域行動計画推進リーダー菅原裕典氏が司会を務め、
「行動計画とクラブ活性化〜好事例のクラブに学ぶ」をテーマに、
仙台泉ロータリークラブの鎌田善幸パスト会長が事例発表を行いました。

国際ロータリーが推進する「行動計画」を積極的に取り入れ、
クラブがどのように活性化してきたのか——
その具体的な歩みと成果を共有。

世界のロータリーリーダーが集う場で、
仙台泉ロータリークラブの取り組みを発信できたことを誇りに思います。

行動計画は“理念”ではなく“実践”。
これからも、地域に根ざしながら、
世界とつながるクラブであり続けます。

At the 54th Rotary Institute (Zone 1A, 2 & 3) held at Pacifico Yokohama (Nov. 19–20, 2025),
Mr. Hironori Sugawara, Rotary Regional Action Plan Leader, served as moderator.

Under the theme “Action Plan and Club Vitalization – Learning from Best Practices,”
Past President Yoshiyuki Kamata of the Sendai Izumi Rotary Club presented our club’s case study.

By actively implementing Rotary’s Action Plan, our club has strengthened and revitalized its activities.
We are honored to share our journey on an international stage.

Action Plan is not theory — it is practice.

本日は移動例会。
一日を通して「ものづくりの哲学」に触れる時間となりました。
■ ニッカウヰスキー仙台工場
仕込工場には甘く香ばしい香りが立ち込め、
麦芽汁まではビールと同じ工程。
違いは、ビールには苦味を生むホップが入ること。
ポットスチルにはしめ縄が巻かれ、
自然や発酵を敬う精神が今も息づいています。
同じ日に仕込んでも、熟成は自然任せ。
一つとして同じ味の樽は生まれない。
だからこそ最終工程でブレンドという技術が活きる。
（※シングルカスクのみはブレンドなし）
印象的だったのは「水」。
新川（にっかわ）の美味しい水を“ニッカの水”として売らない理由は、
それが地元の自然の恵みだから。
創業者の価値観が、今も工場の設計や細部に守られています。
利益を超えた思想がそこにありました。

■ 株式会社クラスコファニチャー
オーダーメイド家具の制作現場を見学。
一本の木材が、職人の手によって家具へと生まれ変わる。
大量生産ではなく、空間や使う人に合わせて作る姿勢。
ここでも感じたのは
“素材への敬意”と“人への想像力”。
ものづくりとは、
単に製品を作ることではなく、
人の暮らしを設計することだと実感しました。

■ グレートデーンブリューイング
クラフトビール醸造所を併設したレストランにて昼食。
ここでも発酵と水が主役。
ビールもウイスキーも、
自然と時間が味をつくる。
工程は違えど、
本質は「自然を尊重し、丁寧に積み重ねること」。
本日の移動例会は、
業種を超えて共通する
「理念を守り続ける力」を学ぶ一日となりました。
39年続く地域活動と同じように、
継続とは思想を守ること。
改めて、ものづくりの原点に触れる機会となりました。

Today’s Rotary meeting was held as a field visit, exploring craftsmanship across industries.
At Nikka Whisky, we learned how nature shapes each barrel uniquely, and how blending becomes an art of harmony.
At Clasco Furniture, we saw custom-made furniture created with respect for materials and people.
At Great Dane Brewing, we experienced how time and fermentation define flavor.
Different industries, same philosophy:
Respect nature. Honor tradition. Preserve values beyond profit.
A meaningful day of learning and reflection.

本日は、39年続く「仙台泉ロータリークラブ杯泉小学生バレーボール卒業記念大会」を開催しました。

堀越幹部による始球式で幕を開け、
子どもたち一人ひとりが、これまで積み重ねてきた努力と成長をコートいっぱいに表現してくれました。

勝ち負けを超えて、
仲間と声を掛け合い、最後までボールを追い続ける姿は、
まさに「卒業」にふさわしい集大成でした。

この大会で得た経験や仲間との時間が、
次のステージへ進む皆さんの力になることを心から願っています。
ご卒業、おめでとうございます。

Today, we proudly held the
39th Sendai Izumi Rotary Club Cup – Elementary School Volleyball Graduation Tournament.

The tournament opened with a ceremonial first serve by Executive Horikoshi,
and the children gave performances that truly reflected their growth and dedication.

Beyond winning or losing,
their teamwork, encouragement, and determination until the very last point
made this a perfect celebration of graduation.

May the experiences and friendships gained here
support each child as they move on to the next chapter.
Congratulations to all graduates!

仙台泉ロータリークラブ新年会
無事に帰国した９名を代表して鷲尾会長、三浦委員長からご挨拶をいただきました。

「幸せの価値は、世界中どこでも同じ。
でも、自分の幸せの価値観を押し付けることが、正解ではないと感じた。」

ポリオワクチンの投与と、ウォータープラントの設置。
それは“何かを与える”ことではなく、
パキスタンの子どもたちの将来の選択肢を広げることにつながったと現地で感じたそうです。

また、2度参加しているメンバーの
「パキスタンの子どもたちの笑顔を守りたい」
という言葉も、強く心に残りました。

この活動は、昨年開催したクラシックカー&スーパーカーチャリティイベントで、皆さまからお預かりした想いとご支援によって実現しました。
心より感謝申し上げます。

A message from our President and Polio Chair after safely returning home.

“Happiness has the same value everywhere in the world.
But forcing our own definition of happiness is not the answer.”

Polio vaccination and the installation of a water plant are not about “giving.”
They are about expanding future choices for children in Pakistan.

The words of a member joining this mission for the second time—
“I want to protect the smiles of Pakistani children”—
remain deeply in our hearts.

This project was made possible by the donations and support
from last year’s charity event.

A ceremony that brings clean water to lives.
This water plant was installed at a facility in Karachi,
home to 200 orphans and 24 elderly residents with no family.

Beyond the facility, it will provide safe water
to nearly 2,000 people in the surrounding community every day.

パキスタンでのポリオワクチン投与活動に参加する、
かけがえのない機会をいただきました。
ロータリーというつながりがあったからこそ、
国境を越えて、目の前の子どもたちの命を守る現場に立つことができました。
現地で出会った人々のまなざし、
そして一滴のワクチンが持つ意味の重さを、
私たちは忘れることはありません。
この貴重な機会を与えてくださったすべての関係者の皆さま、
そして活動を支えてくださった多くの方々に、心より感謝申し上げます。
ポリオ根絶まで、歩みを止めることなく。
ロータリーの使命として、これからも行動を続けてまいります。

We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to take part in polio vaccination activities in Pakistan.
Through Rotary, we were able to stand on the ground, beyond borders,
protecting the lives of children right in front of us.
The eyes of the people we met,
and the weight carried by each single drop of vaccine,
will stay with us forever.
Our sincere thanks to everyone who made this experience possible
and to all who continue to support this vital mission.

*ウォータープラントの設置*
ポリオワクチン投与活動と、もう一つの大切な奉仕活動のため、私たちはパキスタンを訪れました。

それが「ウォータープラントの設置」です。

このウォータープラントは、
仙台泉ロータリークラブが募金活動を通じて集めた資金により、現地に設置することができました。

最終日の午前中には、
カラチ市内にある、約200人の孤児と24人の身寄りのない高齢者が暮らす施設でウォータープラントのオープニングセレモニーが行われました。

このウォータープラントは、施設で暮らす人々の命を支えるだけでなく、周辺地域の住民も含め、1日およそ2,000人に安全な水を届けることができます。

清潔な水は、健康と尊厳、そして未来への希望です。
仙台泉ロータリークラブは、これからも命を守る奉仕を続けてまいります。

In addition to our polio vaccination activities,
we traveled to Pakistan for another vital service project:
the installation of a water plant.

This water plant was made possible by funds raised
through donation activities by the Sendai Izumi Rotary Club.

On the final morning of our visit,
we attended the opening ceremony of the water plant
at a facility in Karachi that is home to
approximately 200 orphans and 24 elderly people with no family.

The water plant not only provides safe drinking water
to those living in the facility,
but also supplies clean water to the surrounding community,
reaching about 2,000 people every day.

Clean water means health, dignity, and hope for the future.
Sendai Izumi Rotary Club will continue
its commitment to protecting lives through service.

世界からポリオを根絶するために。

仙台泉ロータリークラブは、パキスタンにて
ポリオワクチン投与活動を行っています。

世界のポリオ感染者数は99％以上減少しましたが、
いまだ完全根絶には至っていません。
今もなお、現地では一人ひとりの子どもに
ワクチンを届ける地道な活動が続いています。

今回、実際に現地に立ち、
子どもたちの目を見て、声をかけ、
ワクチンを届けるという経験を通して、
「国際奉仕」は遠い理想ではなく、
自分たちの行動そのものだと実感しました。

一滴のワクチンが、
一人の人生を守り、
未来につながっていく。

これからも、仙台泉ロータリークラブは
世界の子どもたちの未来のために行動し続けます。

Toward a polio-free world.

Members of the Sendai Izumi Rotary Club
participated in polio vaccination activities in Pakistan.

Although global polio cases have decreased by more than 99%,
the disease has not yet been completely eradicated.
On the ground, steady efforts continue—delivering vaccines
to each child, one by one.

By being there ourselves, looking into children’s eyes,
speaking with them, and administering vaccines,
we truly felt that international service is not an abstract ideal,
but a real action taken by real people.

One drop of vaccine can protect a life
and shape the future.

We will continue to take action
for the children of the world.

本日は早朝から、戸別訪問、そして高速道路を移動中のバスの中でのワクチン投与を行いました。
「どんな場所にいる子供たちにも、必ず届ける」
その一心で、チームは今日も走り回っています🚌💨
また活動の合間には、先日カラチで発生したショッピングモール火災の現場を訪れ、献花を行いました💐
犠牲になられた方々への哀悼の意を表し、地域の方々の悲しみに寄り添いました。
この献花の様子は、現地のTikTokやメディアでも取り上げていただいたようです。
ポリオ根絶はもちろんですが、こうして現地の人々と心を交わし、信頼関係を築くことも、私たちロータリークラブの大切な使命です。
