Unit Renewal Training,

Get ready for the new unit renewal process! Join us on October 15, 22, and 29 for training sessions covering the updated process and what your unit needs to do to complete its renewal.

Need extra help? We’ll also hold Q&A and hands-on troubleshooting sessions on November 5 and 12, where you can work through the process with us and submit your unit renewal while on the call. Please note that initial calls will not include troubleshooting, as unit renewal does not open until November 2, 2026, in our time zone.

All our trainings and troubleshooting sessions will start at 8pm Japan Time (Please convert to your local time zone).

⚠️ Reminder: Any unit leadership changes must be made by your Chartered Organization Representative (COR) or COR Delegate before completing Unit Renewal. We recommend assigning your COR Delegate now to avoid delays!

Don’t wait until the last minute! Take advantage of these sessions to get your questions answered and make sure your unit is ready for renewal.

Far East Council Office & Scout Shop Closure – Typhoon Dolphin

Due to the approach of Typhoon Dolphin and the anticipated weather conditions, the Far East Council Office and Scout Shop will close at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026, and will remain closed until the storm has safely passed and recovery efforts are complete.

The safety of our volunteers, members, employees, and families is our highest priority.

If you need assistance during this time, please contact your District Executive. Staff will respond as conditions safely allow.

Far East Council Office and Store Closure Notice

Due to Typhoon Jangmi, the Far East Council Office and Scout Store will be closed on June 1, 2026. We will remain closed until the storm has passed and it is safe to resume normal operations.

*Scouting America Military Family Fee Waiver*

Effective June 1, 2026, Scouting America is expanding access to Scouting for military-connected youth by waiving the $85 national youth registration fee for eligible families. This program applies to youth members only and is available for both new and renewing online registrations. The initiative is funded nationally through philanthropic efforts.

Eligible families include those with current service in the Active Duty, Reserve, or National Guard. The waiver covers only the national youth registration fee, reducing the $85 cost to $0 after the required verification and discount code process is completed.

Local council fees, unit dues, optional add-ons such as Scout Life magazine, and processing fees may still apply.

To receive the waiver, families should select “Get Military Discount Code” during the online registration process, complete the verification steps, receive the verification code, and enter it at checkout. Once the code is applied, the national registration fee is reduced to $0.

Scouting America notes that the $85 fee may initially appear during checkout but will be removed after the verification code is entered. The waiver is available only for online registrations.

With the generous support of the National Outdoor Ethics and Conservation Committee, the Far East Council is hosting a Virtual Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor Course—a rare opportunity to earn this respected certification!
