The objective of Action with Lao Children (ALC) is to contribute to achieve fair and peaceful global society by supporting the dissemination of the education so that children can fulfill the right to develop their ability and create their future by themselves. To accomplish this objective, we will play an active role in Laos, one of the countries where children do not receive enough educational ch
ances yet, to create the environment for children to develop their ability to learn by themselves. For this purpose, we publish books, disseminate habits of reading, and support the facilities where children come and play together. When implementing the activities, we aim to promote the participation of children and adults worldwide including Japan and Laos, and to establish relationship that everyone equally demonstrates his/her capacity, and to enable them to get the opportunity of growth.
私たち特定非営利活動法人「ラオスのこども」は、1982年より、ラオスの子どもたちの教育環境の向上を願い、日本および現地ラオスで活動を続けている国際協力ＮＧＯです。
私たちは、子どもが自らの力を伸ばす権利、人生を主体的に選択する権利を全うできるよう、教育の普及に協力し、公正で平和な地球社会づくりに貢献することを目的とし、今日、子どもが教育を受ける機会を十分得ていない地域のひとつであるラオスにおいて、以下の活動を行っています。
ラオスでの絵本・児童書の出版・学校への図書の配付・学校図書室の設立運営支援・教員の研修を通した読書習慣の普及、本や紙芝居の活用による学校教育の充実・作家や画家、編集者など本の作り手の育成、そして、子どもが集い遊び学べる場である「子ども文化センター」の運営支援など、子ども自らが学ぶ力を伸ばす環境を生み出す活動に取り組んでいます。
また、この活動の過程で子どもと市民の参加を促進し、活動によって得た知識や情報を日本社会に発信し、誰もが対等に力を発揮し合う関係を作り出すことで、それぞれが成長の機会を得ることをめざしています。
