We are pleased to share that Mr. NEGORO Takayoshi, Executive Director of O-BIC (Osaka Business and Investment Center), will participate as a panelist in the Global Startup Ecosystem Forum at SCSE 2026, to be held on March 18 in Taipei.

This forum brings together ecosystem leaders from Asia, Europe, and the United States to discuss practical, real-world pathways for global startup expansion, including:

• What works — and what doesn’t — when entering new markets

• Key signals that indicate whether a startup is ready to scale internationally

• How cross-border collaboration among accelerators can create meaningful landing outcomes

From O-BIC’s perspective, the session will highlight real-world examples of how we support overseas startups entering Japan—particularly Osaka—and how regional ecosystems can effectively connect with global founders.

🌏 Bringing the Expo Back to the Heart of Osaka!

We are creating opportunities for overseas companies to showcase their technologies and products—and live-streaming these initiatives to audiences around the world.

In this release, we introduce selected foreign-affiliated companies that expanded into Osaka in 2025 with support from O-BIC.

As part of our efforts to support global business entry into Osaka, O-BIC held an online inspection tour in December featuring the Namba Parks Pop-up venue, where overseas companies can test-market and promote their products.

2025 is drawing to a close, and what a year it’s been! We thank you for checking our Facebook this year, and look forward to bringing you more exciting information about business in Osaka and the Kansai region in 2026.

So, what was 2025 like for you? Osaka was the center of attention as host of the World Expo from April to October, and I’d say we succeeded in showcasing our city, prefecture, region, and nation to the world.

『買いまっせ！売れ筋商品発掘市』・『大阪企業家ミュージアム』見学会を開催しました！
[Event Report] O-BIC Hosted: Kansai International Exchange Program “Kaimasse! Popular Reverse Trade Fair” & Visit to the Osaka Entrepreneurial Museum

大阪外国企業誘致センター（O-BIC）は、外国企業にとって大阪進出の重要な窓口となる在関西の外国公館関係者および日本の海外経済団体関係者を対象に、関西インターナショナル交流事業～『買いまっせ！売れ筋商品発掘市』・『大阪企業家ミュージアム』見学会を開催しました。
関西インターナショナル交流事業は、大阪・関西の企業やビジネス環境の魅力を発信し、大阪の認知度向上と国際的なプレゼンス強化を目的として、2022年より毎年開催しており、今回で5回目の開催となります。
今回は、在日米国商工会議所、オーストリア大使館商務部、在日フランス商工会議所、在大阪スイス領事館、タイ王国総領事館、在大阪ベトナム総領事館から8名の方々にご参加いただきました。大阪に拠点を設けることで、海外企業に販路開拓のチャンスが広がることを少しでも知っていただけたのではないでしょうか。
今後とも大阪外国企業誘致センター（O-BIC）の活動にご注目ください。

O-BIC (Osaka Business and Investment Center) recently hosted the Kansai International Exchange Program, featuring the “Kaimasse! Popular Reverse Trade Fair” and a tour of the Osaka Entrepreneurial Museum, operated by the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The program brought together representatives from foreign diplomatic missions in the Kansai region and Japanese overseas business organizations, serving as a key gateway for foreign companies exploring Osaka as a business hub.
Now in its 5th edition since 2022, the Kansai International Exchange Program continues to showcase the appeal of Osaka and Kansai companies, highlight the local business environment, and strengthen the region’s international presence.
This year, eight distinguished participants joined us from the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan, the Commercial Section of the Austrian Embassy, the French Chamber of Commerce in Japan, the Swiss Consulate in Osaka, the Royal Thai Consulate, and the Vietnamese Consulate in Osaka. We hope the program offered them valuable insights and opportunities to expand their business and sales channels by establishing a presence in Osaka.
We look forward to welcoming more international partners and continuing to showcase Osaka’s business potential through O-BIC’s initiatives!

● News from O-BIC
◆O-BIC, OCCI Lead Business Delegation to Manchester, UK
The Osaka Business and Investment Center (O-BIC), an organization run in part by the OCCI, accompanied Osaka Mayor Hideyuki Yokoyama to Manchester from September 2 to 7, 2025, as part of a delegation to promote Osaka and attract investment. The delegation follows the signing of a partnership agreement by the OCCI and the Manchester Investment Development Agency Service (MIDAS) in June 2025 when a group led by the Mayor of Greater Manchester visited Osaka to coincide with the World Expo.

As part of the Osaka delegation to Manchester, Takayoshi Negoro, executive director of O-BIC and director of the OCCI’s International Division, visited MIDAS and the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, where he outlined how O-BIC works to help overseas businesses set up in Osaka, and gave a rundown on the Osaka economy and major projects including the World Expo currently underway.
Moving forward, O-BIC is aiming to parlay these initial visits into more concrete initiatives, such as matching Manchester companies with Osaka businesses looking to expand overseas.

◆O-BIC Exhibits at CIFIT, China’s Premier Trade Show
O-BIC helped spread the word about Osaka between September 8 and 11, 2025, at the China International Fair for Investment & Trade, a world-class exhibition hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce. The exhibition attracted some 80,000 people from throughout China and around the world, and featured PR booths for national and regional organizations, as well as spaces for companies to meet and talk business.

In addition to organizing an Osaka booth at the fair, O-BIC also made a presentation about Osaka.

◆O-BIC Exhibits at Kidou Global Conference, Part of the Global Startup Expo
O-BIC had a booth at the Kidou Global Conference, which was held on September 18, 2025, as part of the Global Startup Expo. The conference attracted a variety of startups from throughout Japan and around the world interested in AI, IoT, Web3, and other areas of digital technology.
O-BIC worked hard to spread the word among investment-minded overseas startups about what makes Osaka a great place to do business.

Four months have passed since the opening of Expo 2025, and visitor attendance has surpassed 15,000,000, highlighting the event’s growing momentum.
