Last Saturday, October 4th, the first-ever Teachers’ Day in Osaka 2025 celebration was a resounding success, bringing together all educators and the community in a heartwarming tribute to the dedication of teachers. The event was filled with gratitude, laughter, and appreciation, highlighting the invaluable role teachers play in shaping the future.
The event began with an opening prayer from one of our most inspiring and talented teachers, followed by the singing of the national anthem and a stunning violin performance by IYF.
During the event, we also had guest speakers, whom we call Mga Bidang Teachers in Kansai, who shared their successful stories with our participants about their journey here in Japan. Truly honored to have had our guest speakers make our Teachers’ Day event more meaningful and memorable.
One of the highlights of the program is the Leathercraft Skills Workshop, wherein participants were able to make their own leathercraft pockets with the help of our guest speaker, Mr. Tokimi Itaya, who is a passionate leathercrafter. In which teachers had the chance to try something new and explore their creative sides.
Teachers enjoyed some music, games, and of course, the delicious Filipino food prepared by Bessie's catering services. From the opening program to the awarding ceremonies, every detail of the celebration reflected love and respect for the teaching profession. Inspiring speeches, entertaining performances, and meaningful tributes showcased the talents of both students and colleagues, all dedicated to honoring the selfless work of teachers.
The event would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of the organizers, hosts, and volunteers who worked behind the scenes. Their commitment ensured that every moment of the program ran smoothly and left lasting memories for both teachers and guests.
A million thank you to our event sponsors MWO, headed by Hon. Elizabeth Marie R. Estrada, Welfare Officer in Charge of OWWA, Mr. Jonel Quines Habon, PCCC Chairperson, Ms. Katrina I. Fujikawa, and PCCC Vice-Chairperson, Mr. July A. Bartiquin.
Teachers expressed their heartfelt joy and appreciation, noting how the celebration made them feel valued and recognized. The atmosphere was filled with unity and pride, reminding everyone that teachers truly are the guiding lights of society.
As the celebration concluded, participants joined in our solidarity dance, carrying with them not only the joy of the day but also renewed inspiration to continue supporting and appreciating teachers beyond this occasion. Truly, Teachers’ Day 2025 was more than an event — it was a powerful reminder of the noble calling of educators.
