重要：専用渡船の運航終了日が11月14日から前倒しの10月31日に変更となりました。
この航路は、地元の船長さん達のご協力により運行されている、みちのく潮風トレイル専用航路です。定期船ではないため「５日前まで」の予約が必要です。

Important: The boat service provided by local fishermen for hikers will end on October 31, earlier than the originally scheduled date of November 14. (Updated October 15, 2026)
This route is operated with the cooperation of local captains, a dedicated route for the Michinoku Coastal Trail . Since this is not a scheduled ferry service, reservations must be made “at least 5 days in advance.”

MCT全線調査（三陸〜浪板）のお知らせ
MCT Full-Route Survey: Sanriku–Namiita Section — English follows

MCTAの相澤です。
11月15〜20日、三陸駅から浪板海岸まで、6日間の現地調査を行います。

国内外から注目が集まり、ハイカーが増える一方、倒木や草の繁茂など、トレイルの状態への指摘も寄せられています。「来てください」と呼びかける私たちには、安心して、質の良い体験を楽しんでいただける道を育てる責任があります。

調査の速報を受け、草刈りや注意情報の発信に動いてくださる自治体・地域の皆さんに感謝しています。ただ、一度の草刈りだけでは解決しない課題も多く、根本的な路体の改善と継続的なメンテナンス、そして特定の誰かに負担が偏らない仕組みが必要です。

地域にもハイカーにも愛されるMCTを未来につなぐため、歩いて現状を確かめ、皆さんと考えていきたいと思います。

初日、15日(日)は三陸駅を10:30頃、翌日以降は各地点を8:00頃に出発予定です。
イベントやツアーではないので細かなお問い合わせにはお応えし難く、自己責任で参加いただくことになり恐縮ですが、トレイルの保全に興味を持っていただける方はご参加ください。

Hello, this is Kumi Aizawa from MCTA.
From November 15 to 20, I will be conducting a six-day trail survey from Sanriku Station to Namiita Beach. I would be happy to have you join me on the trail.

As the MCT attracts growing attention both in Japan and abroad and welcomes more hikers, we are also receiving feedback about trail conditions, including fallen trees and overgrown vegetation. As an organization inviting people to come and hike, we have a responsibility to care for the trail so that everyone can enjoy a safe, high-quality experience.

We are grateful to the local authorities and community members who have responded to our initial survey reports by clearing vegetation and sharing trail alerts. However, many issues cannot be resolved through a single round of vegetation clearing. We need improvements that address the underlying problems with the trail itself, ongoing maintenance, and a system that shares the workload fairly.

To ensure that the MCT remains a trail cherished by both local communities and hikers for generations to come, I would like to hike it, assess its current condition, and think together with you about its future.

第58回目（10月14日）は、潮風ハイカーズクラブの佐藤あやさんです。
通勤路で見かけた道標や名取トレイルセンターでの温かな出会いをきっかけに、歩き始めたみちのく潮風トレイル。
震災当時、看護師として現場に立ち続けたご自身の記憶や感情と向き合いながら一歩一歩を進めつつ、ハイカーのサポートなどにも携わるようになった佐藤さんの温かな想いが深く胸に響きます。ぜひお読みください。

みちのく潮風トレイルが彩る、青森の味！

A Taste of Aomori, Featuring the Michinoku Coastal Trail!

こんにちは、MCTAの相澤です。
飲料を提供するカゴメさんが、9月２９日から青森県産リンゴのふじとつがるをブレンドした「野菜生活１００青森りんごミックス」の全国販売を開始されました。
パッケージ表面にはみちのく潮風トレイルの風景イラスト、裏面にはロゴも掲載されています。
今日、仕事でスーパーに買い出しに行くと店頭に大量に並んでいて、大きなモックアップもあったので、一緒にいた板橋にのせられて写真をパチリ。
皆さんも、見かけたらぜひ買って飲んでくださいね！

Kagome, the beverage company, launched “Yasai Seikatsu 100 Aomori Apple Mix” nationwide on September 29. It features a blend of Fuji and Tsugaru apples grown in Aomori Prefecture.

The front of the carton features an illustration of scenery along the Michinoku Coastal Trail, and our logo appears on the back!

Today, I went to the supermarket to pick up supplies for work and found a huge display of the drinks, complete with an oversized carton. Masami, who was with me, talked me into posing for a photo!

【宮古市】魹ヶ埼灯台付近の歩行注意とトイレを利用するにあたっての注意
Walking Precautions near Todogasaki Lighthouse and Restroom Information
現在、宮古市重茂半島にある魹ヶ埼灯台付近の谷で足場が悪くなっており、この場所を通り際は注意して歩行してください。
また、灯台の敷地内にあるトイレの手洗用の水道が故障の為使用ができません。トイレは通常通りご利用可能です。
10月15日の午前中に灯台の電気工事のため、停電予定となっております。
停電に伴い、トイレは使用禁止となります。ご利用の際は、お気を付けください。

The footing has become unstable in a valley near Todogasaki Lighthouse on the Omoe Peninsula in Miyako City. Please take extra care when walking through this area.
In addition, the water supply for handwashing at the restroom within the lighthouse grounds is currently out of service due to a malfunction. The restroom itself remains available for use as usual.
A power outage is scheduled for the morning of October 15 due to electrical work at the lighthouse.
During the power outage, the restroom will be closed and unavailable for use. Please plan accordingly.

このたび、世界的な旅行ガイド出版社Lonely Planet（ロンリープラネット）が2026年9月に発表した「Best in Travel 2027」の「2027年に行くべき世界の50選」に、東北（Tōhoku）が選ばれ、みちのく潮風トレイル（MCT）を歩く旅がその理由として紹介されました。
本企画は、世界の25の行き先と25の体験を紹介するもので、公式サイトでは東北について「Best for Michinoku trail hiking（みちのくのトレイルを歩く旅に最適）」と掲げ、太平洋岸をたどるトレイルで出会う人々の温かな歓迎や、変化に富む自然の美しさを伝えています。日本からは沖縄も選ばれ、世界では、エクアドルのガラパゴス諸島、オーストラリアのレッドセンター、アルゼンチンのバリローチェと湖水地方などが選出されました。
MCTは、青森県八戸市から福島県相馬市まで、東北の太平洋沿岸をつなぐ約1,000kmの長距離自然歩道です。2011年の東日本大震災後、環境省のグリーン復興プロジェクトの一環として整備が進められ、2019年6月に全線が開通しました。歩く人は海岸、森、集落を通り、土地の暮らしや文化、震災の記憶に触れます。全線を歩くだけでなく、日帰りや数日間の区間歩きも楽しめます。

Lonely Planet, the global travel guidebook publisher, has selected Tohoku as one of its “Best in Travel 2027” destinations. Hiking the Michinoku Coastal Trail (MCT) is highlighted as a key Tohoku experience, alongside the region’s diverse landscapes and warm local communities.
In its selection, Lonely Planet describes Tohoku as “BEST FOR MICHINOKU TRAIL HIKING,” highlighting the people hikers meet and the natural beauty along the Pacific coast. Japan’s Okinawa is also included in the 2027 list, along with destinations such as Ecuador’s Galápagos Islands and Australia’s Red Centre.
Stretching about 1,000 km along the Pacific coast from Hachinohe in Aomori Prefecture to Soma in Fukushima Prefecture, the MCT passes through coastlines, forests, and local communities. Developed through the Ministry of the Environment’s Green Reconstruction Project following the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, the trail fully opened in 2019. Hikers can experience local landscapes, lifestyles, culture, and the memories of the disaster, whether walking the entire route or exploring shorter sections.
