MTG Nagoya Shiki Theatre ATSUTA has newly opened in the Atsuta area in July 2026 as a Shiki Theatre Company-exclusive playhouse. The theater offers spectators some 1,300 seats and the privilege of seeing the inaugural performance of musical Phantom of the Opera.

Wakeoe Jinja Shrine was built some 1,300 years ago! However, this long-standing shrine is anything by old and dusty. When summer comes, the premises are dressed in colorful wind chimes and wagasa—Japanese umbrellas—for a cool atmosphere🎐✨ These gorgeous wind chimes are planned to be on display until around September, so get in out of the summer heat for the refreshing chimes in the air you’ll only experience in summer🍃

🌻 The shades of summer in a sunflower field (Photos from previous years)
Agricultural Park, Toda River Greenery Park is home to some 400 sunflowers blooming in early August for a spectacular summer scene. The vibrant yellows of sunflowers against the blue sky are something you’ll only see in summer.
The park is also home to the service center, where you can enjoy the Agricultural Science Museum and mini golf as well as Toda River Forest—a day’s worth of fun. Make it out for a summer trip this year or a walk with the family🌻

Wakamiya Hachimansha Shrine is Nagoya’s keeper of peace and quiet and holds its summer highlight once again: the Wind Chime Festival✨ The main torii gate, water basin used to wash and purify your hands, Wakamiya Ryujinsha Shrine, and other spots on the premises are adorned with colorful glass wind chimes ringing cool sounds into the summer breeze🎐 During the event period, you can write your wish on a narrow sheet of paper and tie it to one of the Flower Wind Chimes.
And don’t miss Mikoromo Jinja Shrine, known for bringing couples together and improving sewing abilities, or Renri Inarisha Shrine, which offers matrimonial happiness, as you enjoy a cool walk through this must-visit summer Shinto shrine ⛩️✨
