4月24日、愛知大学の留学生27名がIFの会員の指導で書道体験を行いました。
筆の使い方や点画の基礎練習をした後、それぞれが好きな漢字を書きました。

初めて筆を手にする学生もいれば、アメリカの大学で書道を体験したことがあると話す学生もいました。
約2時間にわたり熱心に練習に取り組み、最後には色紙にそれぞれ清書を書き上げることができました。

On April 24, 27 international students from Aichi University participated in a Japanese calligraphy experience under the guidance of members of IF.
After learning how to use a brush and practicing basic strokes, each student wrote a kanji character of their choice.

Some students were holding a brush for the first time, while others shared that they had experienced calligraphy at a university in the United States.
They practiced diligently for over two hours and were able to complete their final works on decorative paper.

4月22日に、日本文化体験教室として茶道を実施しました。
32名のメキシコからの研修員が参加し、茶道を体験しました。

参加者の皆さんは大変興味を持って積極的に取り組み、多くの質問が寄せられました。
例えば、「日本ではどのような場面でお茶会が開かれるのか」や「日本人は日常的に抹茶を飲むのか」といった質問がありました。

近年、海外では抹茶の需要が高まっている一方で、日本では飲み物の種類が多様化し、日本茶を日常的に飲む家庭は以前より少なくなってきているように感じられます。

On April 22, we held a tea ceremony as part of a Japanese cultural experience program.
A total of 32 trainees from Mexico participated and had the opportunity to experience the tea ceremony.

The participants showed great interest and actively engaged in the activity, asking many questions.
For example, they asked when tea gatherings are typically held in Japan and whether Japanese people regularly drink matcha in their daily lives.

While the demand for matcha has been increasing overseas in recent years, in Japan, the variety of beverages has expanded, and it seems that fewer households regularly drink traditional Japanese tea than in the past.

4月15日に日本文化体験教室として着付け体験を行いました。
メキシコからの研修員が浴衣を着用しました。

4月11日に犬山ツアーに行きました。
犬山城に登ったり、城下町を散策しながら食べ歩きを楽しんだりしました。
天気にも恵まれ、来日して間もないメキシコからの研修員にとって、楽しいひとときとなりました。

On April 11, we had a tour to Inuyama.
We climbed Inuyama Castle and enjoyed strolling through the castle town while trying various local foods.
The weather was beautiful, and it was a very enjoyable time for the trainees from Mexico who had just arrived in Japan.

2月15日に、今年度最後となる交流会を開催しました。
参加研修員はボツワナ、コンゴ、ガボン、スリランカ、スリナム、カメルーン、コートジボワール、北マケドニア、ナイジェリアの皆さんです。着物姿のスリナム出身のデミさんが、「うれしいひなまつり」の踊りを披露しました。この日のために何度も練習を重ね、とても上手に踊る姿に、会場は拍手喝采でした。

続いては、エンジョイダンシング、「南中ソーラン節」「ダンシング・ヒーロー」「ジンギスカン」「マカレナ」と、参加者全員で軽快な音楽に合わせて楽しく踊り、会場は大いに盛り上がりました。

そして最後は、「何でもバスケット」さまざまな方と隣り合わせになり、交流を深めることができました。

来年度最初のイベントは、4月の犬山ツアーです。今年度は犬山祭り後の土曜日に実施する予定です。混雑を避けながら、国宝である犬山城や城下町をゆっくり楽しめそうです。ぜひ皆様ご参加ください。

We held IF party February 15.
The participating trainees came from Botswana, Congo, Gabon, Sri Lanka, Suriname, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, North Macedonia, and Nigeria. Ms. Demi from Suriname, dressed beautifully in a kimono, performed a dance to “Ureshii Hinamatsuri.” She had practiced many times for this special occasion, and her wonderful performance was met with enthusiastic applause.

Next was our “Enjoy Dancing” session. Everyone joined in and danced to lively music, including “Nanchu Soran,” “Dancing Hero,” “Genghis Khan,” and “Macarena.” The venue was filled with excitement and energy.

Finally, we played a game called “Anything Basket,” which gave participants the opportunity to sit next to different people and had a good relationship with one another.

Our first event of next year will be an April trip to Inuyama. This year, it will be held on the Saturday after the Inuyama Festival. We look forward to enjoying Inuyama Castle, a National Treasure of Japan, and strolling through the historic castle town while avoiding the crowds.

On January 25, we held a New Year’s lecture. Afterwards, we enjoyed a Japanese traditional dance performance and had a delightful time socializing with the JICA trainees.
