"No more excuses, no more delays...anybody who is forced into medical retirement from the military deserves their full retirement pay." - AFSA Legislative Policy Advisor

A heartfelt thank you to, Congressman Gus Bilirakis and Senator Richard Blumenthal for standing with us in this fight and alongside those who deserve it most. Thank you as well to the Veterans Justice Alliance and the National Defense Committee for the invitation to speak, and to all the veterans organizations that stood with us in support. Together, we are stronger.

We had the pleasure of hosting retired CMSgt Horton for a Hot Wings Challenge and he definitely brought the heat!

With an incredible 30 years of service, culminating as the 35 MSG/SEL, Chief Horton shared some real, no-nonsense wisdom that stuck with everyone in the room. He talked about how the Air Force shaped his life and how he wouldn’t change a thing.

Between bites (and a few laughs), he left us with some solid advice:
• Carry a positive attitude in all circumstances
• Commit to excellence in everything you do; your effort and consistency are what set you apart
• Protect your work-life balance; don’t let work cost you what matters most
• Be disciplined with your finances and invest in your TSP; the decisions you make today build your stability tomorrow
• Have the courage to speak up and lean on others; taking care of your mental health is a sign of strength, not weakness

It was a great time filled with laughs, lessons, and just the right amount of spice.

Huge thanks to Joho for stopping by and for the generous donation. We truly appreciate your continued support!

Additionally, we were proud to present the AFSA Chapter 1552 NCO Quarterly Award to TSgt DieuChau Holmes, recognizing her outstanding excellence in community involvement across the base and the lasting impact she continues to make.

DELIVER THE PAY RAISE. PROTECT THE PAYCHECK

The President’s FY2027 budget proposes a substantial military pay raise—7% for E-5 and below, 6% for E-6 to O-3, and 5% for O-4 and above. This is one of the most significant pay increases for our servicemembers in years, and it’s long overdue.

AFSA is calling on Congress to get this done on time! Enact this raise through the NDAA and full-year appropriations so our Airmen, Guardians, and their families see it in their paychecks without delay.

But delivering a pay raise isn’t enough if a government shutdown can freeze it. That’s why AFSA is also pushing for the Pay Our Troops Act. Legislation that would guarantee military paychecks continue during any lapse in funding. Our troops should never have to worry about whether their next paycheck will arrive because of political gridlock in Washington.
Deliver the raise. Protect the paycheck. Support our troops.

Contact your elected officials and tell them to pass the military pay raise and the Pay Our Troops Act: [https://www.votervoice.net/AFSA/Campaigns/136194/Respond]
