TELL TELL is dedicated to providing effective support and counseling services to Japan's international community and its increasing mental health needs.

TELL offers three core services: free, anonymous, and confidential English lifeline, professional face-to-face psychotherapy and testing, and community-wide outreach programs. The organization is run by a volunteer Board, some salaried professionals, and many passionate volunteers. As a not-for-profit organization, TELL relies on donations for the majority of its funding. We'd love to talk to you more about how you could donate to TELL (money, time, expertise) and how you can get involved. Just send us a message, or call our business office: 03-4550-1191.

Kinga Drozynska is one of TELL's Super Step Up Challengers. Read about why she joined the last year:

"I took on TELL Japan’s Step Up Challenge because this challenge combines mental and physical health, as well as social wellbeing, bringing people together and opening them up for meaningful discussions.

On 10th Oct 2025, Mental Health Day - the exact date that concludes the one-month long challenge - together with Idylla Foundation and Sozoro Walks, I organised a community night walk to take 20,320 steps honoring that many lives lost to su***de in Japan iin 2024. It was surprisingly moving to realise that some of us struggled to reach this number of steps, while it was the number of people who had died by su***de in Japan in a single year. It put the scale of the issue into perspective.

Supporting TELL reflects my deep conviction that su***de is preventable. Let's make it easier to talk about mental health, recognise when someone is struggling, ask for help, and build greater resilience in our communities. For me, the SUP Challenge was a small but meaningful step towards creating those conversations and reminding people that no one should have to struggle alone."

Thank you to Rionne McAvoy and Ivan Kovac for this footage of our event on this date last , September 10th, is World Su***de Prevention Day. It is a day to remember those who have died by su***de, to stand alongside those who have been affected by su***de, and to share a message that su***de is preventable and that help is available.

Last year in Japan, 19,188 people died by su***de, including 538 elementary, junior-high, and high-school students. Beyond the numbers, these were people who were struggling with things that may not always have been visible to those around them: loneliness, pressure, disconnection, grief, uncertainty, feeling that they did not belong, or feeling overwhelmed by what was in front of them.

To mark the start of our month-long , we will hold a candlelight vigil. This is an opportunity to come together in quiet reflection as we remember those in our lives we have lost to su***de and show our support for anyone struggling today. We will also be holding community walks around the country from September 10th - October 10th as part of our Step Up Challenge.
