The St David’s Society of Japan warmly invites our members and our friends from the Japan British Society to join us for a special Christmas concert at the FCCJ Club, featuring our resident Minstrel from Cardiff, Paul Williams.

Sing along or simply sit back and enjoy FCCJ perennial Morgan Paul Williams and flutist Yuko as they perform all your Christmas favourites, from traditionals like “Away in a Manger” and “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” to the Welsh “Deck the Halls with Holly.”
You’ll also hear party classics such as “Fairytale of New York” and “Merry Christmas Everybody,” plus a solid rock ’n’ roll “Silent Night” and the timeless message of “Happy Xmas (War Is Over).”

Morgan Paul Williams is a veteran performer and musician from Cardiff. Currently based in Chigasaki, Kanagawa, he is a longtime Japan resident and member of the St David’s Society of Japan. He brings a huge repertoire of Christmas songs - traditional, contemporary, famous, and obscure - and welcomes requests of any genre.

Yuko, the other half of the Celtic folk duo, is a trained classical musician with the flute as her main instrument.

The St David’s Society is joining the FCCJ’s regular Saturday Night Live event as our Christmas Event this year, as our member Paul will be performing.

The SNL (Saturday Night Live) events are free for FCCJ members. For St David’s Society members (as guests/non-members of FCCJ), there will be a 1,000 yen music charge - an incredible bargain for Tokyo entertainment and a perfect Christmas outing for us all!

🍷 Cash bar available for food and drinks
📍 FCCJ: Marunouchi Nijubashi Bldg. 5F, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo

An interesting BBC article about Kate Roberts, the Welsh writer and Nobel nominee whose work vividly captured the lives and struggles of women in rural Wales during the early 20th century, especially those in the slate villages before the days of the NHS.

Kate Roberts’ writing captured the struggles of women in rural Wales in the early 20th Century.
