It was a pleasure to welcome Executive MBA students from the Quinlan School of Business, Loyola University Chicago, to the ACCJ office! Executive Director Laura Younger hosted an insightful University Briefing on the Chamber’s work advancing U.S.–Japan business ties, followed by general background on Japan’s healthcare industry and a comparison of the Japanese and U.S. healthcare systems. The delegation also explored the impact of Japan’s aging society on healthcare policy, innovation, and the broader economy.

Thank you to the students for your great questions, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Tokyo in the future!

What does it actually take to bring art into business environments in a meaningful way? On June 16, we welcome Daniel Harris Rosen, PhD, founder of TokyoDex, which specializes in innovative art solutions and connects businesses with top Japanese artists to transform spaces and create unique experiences, to share how he built a career at the intersection of art, design, and entrepreneurship in Japan.

Drawing from his own background and personal anecdotes, as well as projects with major brands, public institutions, and cultural spaces, Rosen will offer a behind-the-scenes look at how creative ideas move from concept to reality, and why the difference between art and design matters more than many clients realize. Through stories from the field, he will explore collaboration, authenticity, leadership, and the challenges of building a business around creativity in a market that often values consensus over risk.

The Women in Business Forum is honored to welcome Mariko Fujita, LIXIL Corporation’s executive officer, executive vice president, and chief financial officer, for the latest installment of our Breakfast in the Boardroom series. As a key architect of LIXIL’s financial and organizational strategy, Fujita offers a unique and refreshing perspective on leadership in Japan’s evolving corporate landscape.

Unlike many executives in global firms, Fujita’s career was forged entirely within Japan. She did not grow up or study abroad, yet she has successfully navigated leadership roles at major multinational and domestic organizations, including Amazon Japan, GE Capital, and UD Trucks. Her journey is a testament to the fact that a global mindset is not defined by where you studied, but by a relentless commitment to curiosity, transformation, and professional excellence.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with one of Japan’s most influential female finance executives. We encourage you to bring your questions on resilience, creating impact within organizations, and the future of leadership in a post-globalized world. Please register at the link in our bio.

The ACCJ was elated to host the return of the Spring Meet & Greet on April 9.

Held at the iconic Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo, one of the ACCJ’s newest company members, over 120 members and guests enjoyed an elegant evening of networking accompanied by refreshments and hors d’oeuvres.

Three lucky draw winners took the stage to introduce themselves to the audience, and the room was abuzz with the excitement of new connections and the arrival of a new season.

The ACCJ sincerely thanks its event partners Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo and VEGA Japan for their generous support in making this event possible. We also thank our members and guests who joined us and look forward to seeing them at upcoming events!
