The RePAIR Program is for self-funded artists who choose to reside and work at PARADISE AIR on their own initiative.
The name “RePAIR” refers to repairing and rebuilding the foundation of PARADISE AIR, and also reflects our hope that new pairings and connections will emerge between artists, supporters, and residency experiences.

This is our first fee-based residency program, and we will use the residency fees to support the ongoing operation and future development of PARADISE AIR. Through the RePAIR Program, we aim to build a foundation that will allow us to revive free residency opportunities in the future. We also assist artists with grant applications and offer opportunities for individuals and organizations to support artists staying in Japan.

The RePAIR Program offers two residency options. ✌️

Choose your residency period in one-week increments. Suitable for artists who need a temporary base for activities in Tokyo or Chiba and prefer flexible dates.

PARADISE AIRの新たな滞在プログラム「RePAIR Program（リペア・プログラム）」では、自費で滞在制作に訪れる能動的なアーティストを応援します。
「RePAIR Program」と名付けたのは、PARADISE AIRの運営を復旧させる意味のその先に、新たにアーティストとレジデンスの個性豊かなペアリングが生まれることを願っているからです。
　
本プログラムは、PARADISE AIRとして初めて試みる有償のレジデンスプログラムです。頂いた滞在費はPARADISE AIRの継続的な運営のために有効に使われます。そのため、滞在アーティストが助成金を得るためのアシストを行なうだけでなく、アーティストの日本滞在を支援したいスポンサーが応募できるようにプログラムを設計しました。

A new art and community space, SEE/SOW, is opening in Matsudo.
Based in Tokiwadaira, Chiba, SEE/SOW is a locally rooted art project that creates a space where people and artistic practices can meet, interact, and take shape. The space has been developed as a personal project by Koji Kato, co-director of PARADISE AIR, and will finally celebrate its grand opening.
　
To mark this special occasion, artists currently in residence at PARADISE AIR will also take part.
An open studio event, extending beyond PARADISE AIR, will be held at SEE/SOW, with April 26 (Sun) as the core day.

Things are changing for PARADISE AIR in 2026.
　
Due to large-scale adjustments to our residence programs as a result of changes to our operating environment, we are suspending all residence program applications for June 2026 and beyond. For those artists who have already applied, or those who have been considering an application, we sincerely apologize for the suddenness of this announcement.
　
◉ Artists whose stays have already been confirmed for this year (those who have received confirmation of their stay from PARADISE AIR) will be welcomed under the same terms as set out at the time of their application.
◉ To those who have applied for our SHORTSTAY Program scheduled for June 2026 or thereafter, it is with deep regret that we must cancel all aspects of this residence program, including screening, results announcements, and program implementation.
◉ We will be announcing a new residence program at a later date, so those who are interested in a PARADISE AIR residence program from June 2026 onward should apply to that. Details concerning this new program will be announced in the coming months.
　
All of us in the PARADISE AIR management team have, in the thirteen years since the program’s founding, operated with the goal of becoming a “One Stay, One Art” point of transit. Working with the city of Matsudo, we have provided a place for artists, who in turn bring a new perspective to the city. This simple exchange has produced a powerful flow of creative people between Matsudo and the rest of the world.
　
Beginning in April of this year, PARADISE AIR’s operational approach will drastically change due to reductions in the budget for arts and culture hubs Matsudo has allotted to PARADISE AIR.
　
Fortunately, we will retain the residence space itself. Furthermore, PARADISE AIR’s management team is committed to finding ways to ensure that PARADISE AIR’s activities survive in some form going forward.
　
We draw tremendous confidence from our most valuable resource: the network of artists and Matsudo citizens that has developed over the past thirteen years. We kindly ask for your continued support. We also welcome any support or ideas on operational matters from those who may be able to provide assistance. With everyone’s help, we hope to overcome these dramatic changes.

For this second edition of PARADISE CORNER, we will hold a two-day event with an exhibition and a workshop.
