Meet Zoe from Switzerland!

Zoe has selected a few items to share with us to tell us more about herself:

Climbing shoe 👟
I was introduced to rock climbing event before I started Scouting. I am still very passionate about this sport, whether its indoors, outdoors, bouldering or with a rope. The climbing shoe also signifies my love for movement and the mountain, of which we have many in Switzerland.

Headphones 🎧
My headphones are always coming with me. Whether I'm out exploring London or reading a book. I love listening to music or audiobooks I also like learning new instruments, currently I'm learning the guitar to play at campfire.

Tichu 🃏
This card game is one my favourites to play and it is very popular amongst Swiss scouts. I have many good memories linked to playing it with my friends at camp. It is a great way to meet new people because almost everybody knows it. So I always have it with me just in case.

Camera 📷
This camera has been with me for almost 5 years. I take it with me almost everywhere to capture some of my dearest memories. When exploring new places I love taking the time to pause to take nice pictures.

Pocket knife
A Scout is always prepared and this pocket knife has proven useful so many times. For me it represents my enthusiasm for Scouting as well as the outdoors.

🍁🍂Volunteer at Our Chalet in Autumn 2026! 🍁🍂

Are you an active member of Guiding/Scouting, age 18+, and ready to give back to the Movement while learning new skills?

We're looking for hard workers with good spoken English and an eagerness to work in multicultural teams and develop leadership skills to join us from 24 August to 3 November 2026!

Volunteers receive accommodation, meals, uniform, and visas. Travel scholarships are also available for those with a financial need.

Applicants must be available for the entire season, be aged 18+, and be physically and mentally fit to work long days living and working in the mountains in shared housing.

📣Special Initiative with WAGGGS GYM Programme 📣

In partnership with WAGGGS’ GYM Programme, we are excited to share that we are offering volunteer applicants from eligible Member Organisations the opportunity to design and implement inclusive, SDG-focused initiatives to in their home countries after their placement.

During the season, all volunteers can participate in dedicated workshops on project design, planning and implementation; however, only those from GYM-eligible countries will be able to access additional funding and support to implement their projects back home. See eligible GYM countries here:
