🌿 Monthly Check-in Presentation & Exchange Vol.3 – 開催報告

第3回となるMonthly Check-in Presentation & Exchangeでは、京都にしばらく滞在しながら活動してきたクリエイターと、京都に来たばかりのクリエイターを迎えました。

刺繍、陶芸、アート、パフォーマンスアートなど、それぞれ異なる分野で活動するクリエイターが、これまでの活動や現在取り組んでいること、これからつくっていきたいものを共有しました。

それぞれの中にある想像力や視点に触れるとともに、京都の文化や伝統、ものづくりなど、この土地にあるさまざまなものが、彼らの創造性をさらに刺激していることも印象的でした。異なる背景や経験を持つクリエイターと京都との出会いから、どのような新しい視点やつながりが生まれていくのか。今回も、そんな可能性を感じる時間となりました。

🌿 Monthly Check-in Presentation & Exchange Vol.3 – Event Report

Our third Monthly Check-in Presentation & Exchange brought together creators who had been living and working in Kyoto for some time, as well as those who had only recently arrived.

Working across fields including embroidery, ceramics, art, and performance art, each creator shared their past activities, current practices, and ideas for what they hope to create in the future.

The evening offered an opportunity to encounter the perspectives and imagination that shape each creator's work, while also reflecting on how Kyoto's rich culture, traditions, and creative practices are further stimulating their creativity. What new perspectives and connections might emerge when the experiences creators bring with them meet the many layers of Kyoto? It was a moment that hinted at just those possibilities.

2026年度レジデンス紹介｜共同書庫

共同書庫は、個人の蔵書を地域にひらき、本を公共的な資源として共有する私設図書館です。本を介して、人が集まり、読み、話し、考える場として運営されており、地域にひらかれた文化的な交流拠点となっています。

今年度は、台湾・台中を拠点に活動する出版ユニット Artqpie（アートキューパイ）を迎えます。Artqpieは、独立系書店兼カルチャースペースを拠点に、インディペンデント・パブリッシングやジン制作、都市のリサーチを行っています。

本を通じて人と人が出会うこの場所で、京都の日常や地域との関わりが、どのような出版や記録へとつながっていくのか楽しみです。

📚 Bookmakers in Residence | Kyodo Shoko

This November, Kyodo Shoko, a community library that opens private book collections to the public, will welcome Artqpie, a publishing unit based in Taichung, Taiwan.

Artqpie works across independent publishing, zine-making, and urban research. During their residency, we look forward to seeing how encounters with everyday life and local communities in Kyoto may develop into new forms of publishing and documentation.

2026年度レジデンス紹介｜KYOTO LAUNDRY CAFE

KYOTO LAUNDRY CAFEでは、地域の日常やコミュニティとのつながりを大切にしています。コミュニティカフェや多文化交流イベントとも連携し、滞在クリエイターが地域住民や学生、在住外国人などと自然につながる機会を育んでいます。「地域と創作をつなぐ拠点」として、日常の風景の中から新たな実践が生まれることを目指しています。

今年度は、香港を拠点に活動するキュレーター、リサーチャー André Chan（アンドレ・チャン）を迎えます。André Chanは、現代都市の課題とアーティストの実践をテーマに、展覧会の企画やリサーチを行っています。近年は、テクノロジーや移民の歴史、食文化をめぐる研究にも取り組んでいます。

地域に根ざした暮らしの中で、京都の日常や人々との出会いが、André Chanのリサーチにどのような新たな視点をもたらすのか楽しみです。

2026年度レジデンス紹介｜圓田 YENTA

圓田 YENTAは、京都・吉田神社の麓にあるベーカリーです。パンづくりを通して地域の日常に寄り添い、人と人が自然につながる場を育んでいます。

今年度は、ドイツを拠点に活動するパン職人 Durand Maritchu（ドゥラン・マリチュ）を迎えます。Durandは、パンづくりを通して土地の風土や文化、人とのつながりを探求しています。

地域の日常の中に根ざしたYENTAでの滞在を通して、パンを囲んだ何気ない会話や出会いが、新たな交流や実践へとつながっていくことを楽しみにしています。

ANTI MORAL SCHOOLは、元住居をDIYで改装した、制作・展示・対話が交差するクリエイティブスペースです。共同制作や公開制作、トークイベントなどを通して、異なる背景を持つ実践が交わる場づくりを行っています。

2026年度レジデンス紹介｜GALLERY GARAGE

GALLERY GARAGEは、同時代ギャラリーと連携し、京都・東九条に開かれた新しいコマーシャルギャラリーです。街へと開かれた空間の中で、企画展やさまざまな活動を通して、地域と国内外のアーティストをつなぐプラットフォームを目指しています。

今年度は、韓国から Kim Sang-Nyeon と出版ユニット STROLL PRESS を迎えます。書、篆刻、出版、写真・映像、グラフィックデザインなど、それぞれ異なる分野で活動する3名が、街にひらかれたギャラリーを拠点に滞在します。

街にひらかれたギャラリーという環境の中で、多様な表現や文化的背景が交わり、新たな対話やコラボレーションが生まれることを楽しみにしています。

This residency invites participants to explore Kyoto's traditional crafts through their relationships with materials, architecture, landscapes, and local communities.

Based in Kyoto, participants will develop their own research through dialogue, fieldwork, and encounters with craftspeople, researchers, and local residents.

🌿 Monthly Check-in Presentation & Exchange vol.2 開催報告

第2回となるMonthly Check-in Presentation & Exchangeでは、出身地も活動分野も世代も異なる、6名の登壇者をお迎えしました。
現代アート、伝統工芸、ミュージアム研究、コミュニティを基盤としたフィールドワーク。発表では、それぞれが京都での滞在を通して見つけたことや、そこから生まれた問い、現在進行中のリサーチや制作の過程が共有されました。発表後には、登壇者と参加者のあいだで会話が広がり、異なる関心や活動が思いがけないかたちでつながる場面も。多様なクリエイティブな実践や視点、文化的背景が交差する場所としての京都を、改めて感じる時間となりました。

Our second Monthly Check-in Presentation & Exchange brought together six guest speakers from a range of backgrounds and generations.

Through presentations on contemporary art, traditional crafts, museum research, and community-based fieldwork, each speaker shared the insights, questions, and discoveries that emerged during their time in Kyoto.

The evening offered a valuable opportunity to reflect on Kyoto as a place where diverse creative practices, perspectives, and cultural experiences come together.
