Kofu Toastmasters Meeting #158 Report
On Saturday, January 10, at 2:00 PM, Kofu Toastmasters held its 158th meeting.
This was an on-site meeting, and we welcomed 8 members and 4 guests, for a total of 12 participants.
The meeting opened with welcoming remarks from our President, TM YA. With smiles all around and a positive, warm atmosphere fitting for the New Year, the meeting got off to a great start.
Next, we invited our guests to introduce themselves.
Welcome to Mr. M, Ms. K, Mr. S, and our Area Director, TM TT!
Our Toastmaster of the Day, TM SN, then guided the meeting smoothly and energetically from start to finish.

🎤 Prepared Speech Session
We enjoyed two excellent prepared speeches:
• TM RA delivered a heartfelt speech titled “A Toast to Man’s Best Friend,” about his precious dog, Lucky. Remembering Lucky, he shared beautiful memories and spoke movingly about the bond we share with our pets.
• TM KO delivered a speech titled “Four Reasons You Should Move to Toyama Prefecture.”
Using a presentation, TM KO gave an engaging and persuasive speech that truly made us want to visit Toyama.

💬 Table Topics Session
Our Table Topics Master, TM SI, led the session wonderfully.
The topics were perfect for the New Year and focused on the Year of the Horse. We enjoyed fluent, interesting, and thoughtful responses, especially from our guests.
One particularly interesting topic was whether New Year’s greetings should be sent by postcard or digitally—it was fascinating to see how opinions differed by generation.
Thank you very much to all the guests who courageously participated, even on short notice!

🏆 Contest Speech Practice
We had a special session featuring TM YA, who will be participating in the Area Contest on February 1.
TM YA delivered the contest speech, followed by encouraging and highly practical feedback from TM RA.
We also received valuable advice from TM SN, who participated in the contest last year.
The contest is just around the corner—we are all cheering you on!

📝 Evaluation Session
• TM RK delivered a clear and well-organized evaluation of TM RA’s speech, making it highly educational and easy to understand.
• TM FA evaluated TM KO’s speech and emphasized how much the quality of the speech had improved compared to the previous one.
• Our Grammarian, TM SN, carefully checked our grammar and provided accurate feedback—thank you, as always.
• As Word Master, TM SN also explained the Word of the Day, “Laborious,” very clearly. Thank you for taking on triple roles—we truly appreciate it.
• Our Timer, TM KT, performed this role on-site for the first time, handling it smoothly and confidently.
At the end of the meeting, our General Evaluator, TM SN, evaluated the two evaluators, which was also very educational for all of us.
