Family & Friends Project We obtained official recognition as a Non-Profit Organization from the Japanese Government October 2013.

With a focus on Education, our goals are to: 1) provide educational Sponsorships to underserved children; 2) support teachers interested in improving their skills and knowledge; and 3) Literacy and Life Skills programs for adults and young children. Apart from our primary goals of providing Educational Scholarships and support for Teacher Development and Literacy/Life Skills programs, we support anti-human trafficking and women's empowerment organizations through the purchase of locally made handicrafts, provide some support for emergency disaster relief and severe hardship cases if/when needed, and organize cross-cultural exchange experiences in Nepal.

Hello, a quick notice for those of you in the Kobe area of Japan, the YMCA is holding their annual Festival October 24, from 11:00 to 15:00 at their facilities about 10-15 minutes up from Sannomiya stations where we will again have a booth selling handmade Nepali handicrafts. Come even for a short look and lots of fun things to see, do, and eat. Bring your friends. Hope to see you there.

こんにちは。神戸周辺にお住まいの皆様へ、簡単なお知らせです。YMCAでは、10月24日11:00～15:00、三宮駅から徒歩10～15分ほどの場所にある施設にて、恒例のフェスティバルを開催します。会場では、今年もネパールのハンドメイド工芸品を販売するブースを出展します。ちょっと立ち寄るだけでも構いません。見どころや体験コーナー、食べ物など、楽しいことが盛りだくさんです。ぜひお友達もお誘い合わせの上、お越しください。会場でお会いできるのを楽しみにしています。

For those of you living in the Kansai area, a quick reminder that the Nepal Flood Relief fundraising dinner in Takatsuki is tomorrow the 25th from 7:00pm and there are only a couple seats left so, if you have not informed us and are interested and can make it, please let me know as soon as possible. There are still plenty of seats for the fundraising dinner in Kobe the following day, the 26th from 6:00pm, but again, please let me know if you if you can make it, if you have not already informed us. Hope to see you at one of the dinners helping Nepalis get back to more normal lives and enjoying a nice dinner with like-minded people.

関西にお住まいの皆様へ：先日ネパールで発生した壊滅的な洪水の被災者を支援するための募金ディナーに関する投稿を見逃してしまった方のために、こちらに再掲載いたします。ご支援いただいた皆様のおかげで、毛布、米、医薬品など、差し迫ったニーズに対応するための資金をある程度集めることができました。今回のディナーイベントは、学校が再開できるようになった際に、子どもたちや学校へ提供する教育支援教材といった「フェーズ2」のためのさらなる資金集めに役立てられます。9月25日に高槻市、26日に神戸市、そして10月12日正午から再び神戸市で開催予定の2回のディナーと1回のランチのいずれかに、ぜひご参加ください。美味しい食事を楽しみ、志を同じくする方々と交流を深めながら、ネパールの子どもたちやご家族を支援しましょう。

For those of you in the Kansai area of Japan: In case you missed any of the posts regarding our fundraising dinners to help support the victims of the recent catastrophic floods in Nepal, I will be posting them here. Thanks to our generous supporters, we have been able to raise some funds to help cover immediate needs such as blankets, rice, medicine, etc. The dinners will help us raise more funds for "Phase 2" which is educational support materials for children and schools once schools reopen. Please join us for some good food, chance to meet like-minded people, and help the children and families in Nepal at any of the 2 dinners and one lunch we have planned September 25th in Takatsuki, 26th in Kobe, and Oct. 12 again, in Kobe from noon.
