ADRCの新所長、宮木さんを紹介します。
2026年４月１日付で笹原所長の後任として、国土交通省からアジア防災センターに参りました宮木一寛（みやきかずひろ）と申します。
阪神淡路大震災が発災して１年あまり経った平成８年４月に国土庁（現国土交通省）に入り、これまで様々な仕事をさせて頂きました。
防災に関しては、防衛庁で自衛隊の災害派遣の担当として、制度の整備や現地での情報収集などに携わり、噴火直後の北海道の有珠山や伊豆諸島の三宅島に行ったこともあります。
また、国際関係では、ケニアのナイロビにある日本国大使館に勤務し、ナイロビに本部があるハビタットという、主に発展途上国の都市・住宅問題を扱う国連機関の日本側の窓口として働きました。
大阪に２年ほど単身赴任したことがありますが、神戸での生活、仕事は初めてですので、みなさまに色々教えて頂きながら、仕事も生活も充実させていきたいと思います。

My name is Kazuhiro Miyaki. As of April 1, 2026, I have come to the Asian Disaster Reduction Center from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism as the successor to the Executive Director Sasahara.
I joined the National Land Agency (now the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism) in April 1996, about a year after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake and have been engaging in various types of work since then.
Regarding disaster prevention, I was in charge of disaster dispatch for the Self-Defense Forces at the Defense Agency, involved in system development and on-site information gathering. I also went to Mount Usu in Hokkaido and Miyakejima in the Izu Islands immediately after eruptions.
In terms of international relations, I worked at the Embassy of Japan in Nairobi, Kenya, serving as the Japanese counterpart to Habitat, a UN organization headquartered in Nairobi that mainly deals with urban and housing issues in developing countries.
I have spent about two years on a solo assignment in Osaka, but this is my first time living and working in Kobe. I hope to enrich both my work and daily life while learning many things from all of you.
