A plane, a couple of coaches, and more walking than anyone signed up for. But it was the trains that stole the show and we're not even mad.
20 musicians, a mountain of luggage and instruments, and a packed schedule across multiple cities means you spend a lot of time on Japan's legendary rail network. And honestly some of our favourite memories happened on the platforms and carriages.
The laughs, the exhausted naps, the slowly dawning realisation that everything in Japan actually runs on time (to the millisecond). The scramble to make sure everyone made it on board before the doors closed.
Japan's trains run on precision. By the end, our musicians did too; lugging cases, instruments and gear through platforms packed with locals who had absolutely no idea what to make of us. Not your typical tour, but we loved every second of it.
