Kurohone is a rural area in the mountains with a population of about 2,000. This area is near from Tokyo, taking just two and a half hours by train. You can also come from Nikko (one of the World Heritage Sites in Japan) easily. In Kurohone, there are mountains to hike/climb, hot springs, Japanese-style hotels, campsites, restaurants, etc… these are all good for visitors. And also the people in Ku
rohone are very kindhearted. You will be impressed with them! However, I think this area hasn’t really advertised its own self (especially for the foreign visitors; it has been scarcely ever introduced for them so far). So I started to make an English website to transmit the information of Kurohone area to the world. This is just an individual website, but is virtually like an official tourist information website of this area (It may be an exaggeration…?)
In addition to that, I’m holding the activities that the guests come in contact with general inhabitants in Kurohone (Talking with Japanese elderly people, Playing with Japanese children, etc), because I wanted to increase some attractions that the visitors can experience only in Kurohone.
*The reason why the title of this facebook & website are “Cycling Club” is because I intended to make just a simple website to enjoy cycling at first. After that, it was loaded with many contents by greedy manager (me). Therefore, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about whole Kurohone area. Most facilities here don't accustomed themselves to serving to non-Japanese speaker, so I'd like to deal with that to the best of my ability (There is no charge for this – Because this is not a travel agency and I’m not a tour guide, but just like a volunteer now).

[Postscript] Junior high/ elementary/ nursery school in Kurohone place importance on English education. Not only there is a full-time native English teacher in the schools, but also the students interact with the students of the “Nishimachi International school (*)” in Tokyo on a regular basis. So the children in Kurohone who feel familiar with English are growing for the future. It means this area has a potential to be an open area to the world:)
