In 2015, our family went on a vision trip to Japan in response to Holy Spirit’s challenge: “Go, and I’ll Show You”. He did show us and Team Adams hasn’t looked back since. Hindsight being 20/20, we realized God has been preparing and equipping us for several years for this mission. And the last couple of years have been spent getting rid of our possessions, prepping our family (son - Lance graduat
ed High School and added a new family member, son - Ethan) and preparing our ministry platform. Our mission is clear and our move is around the corner! The Japanese Are The Largest Unreached People Group in the World: Less than 1% of the Japanese people follow Christ, therefore most Japanese know little about Jesus. Shinto, meaning “way of the gods” is the native religion of Japan. The Emperor is thought to have descended from the sun and he is thought to be the high priest and was worshipped like a god until WWII. Buddhism was introduced in the 6th century and is influential because of its emphasis on ancestry worship. This is woven into the culture and this is all the Japanese know. Family Life is in a Period of Unprecedented Crisis: Divorce and Su***de rates are escalating at an alarming pace. It is not uncommon for the male to work 10+ hours a day, 6 days a week their entire working career leaving little to no time for relationship with their wife or children. With the work culture and rise in divorce, Japan is described as a “fatherless” nation. The Young Generation is looking for a different way: There is hope and Team Adams is prepared to share a “different way” to the Japanese, that being… God’s Story. God is preparing the hearts of the Japanese. There is a great harvest coming and Team Adams is ready to go to work.
