Day 6 (August 3)
The students had a courtesy visit with the Mayor of Ito City.
They also joined a Japanese language class, where they enjoyed communicating with volunteer teachers.
In the afternoon, they visited Butsugenji Temple, a historic temple in Ito, and learned more about the city’s culture and history.
The day ended with a koto experience, where they tried this traditional Japanese instrument. It was a memorable day filled with cultural experiences, friendship, and wonderful discoveries in Ito.
本日は、伊東市長への表敬訪問を行いました。
日本語教室にも参加し、ボランティアの先生方と交流しました。午後は、歴史ある佛現寺を見学し、伊東の文化や歴史に触れました。
最後は、お琴や尺八体験に挑戦！初めて触れる日本の伝統楽器を楽しみました🎵充実した一日を通して、日本の文化、人との出会い、そして伊東の魅力を感じることができたようです。

Day 5 (August 2)
Yokosuka International Youth Forum
Every year, exchange students from Yokosuka’s sister cities gather for the Yokosuka International Youth Forum, where they introduce their hometowns through presentations and build friendships by taking part in games and other activities.
The day began with a visit to sites associated with William Adams (Miura Anjin).
Two students from Ito who will soon travel to Medway, UK, gave a presentation introducing the attractions of Ito City. Together with the four exchange students visiting from Medway, a total of eight students from Medway, Yokosuka, and Ito will soon spend time together in Medway.

毎年、横須賀市の姉妹都市から派遣生が集まり、それぞれのまちの魅力を紹介するプレゼンテーションやゲームを通して交流を深める「横須賀国際ユースフォーラム」が開催されました。
その前に三浦按針ゆかりの地を見学。
今年も、これからイギリス・メドウェイへ派遣される伊東市の派遣生2名が、伊東市の魅力をPR！メドウェイから来日している派遣生4名と、横須賀市・伊東市の派遣生を合わせた8名は、この後一緒にメドウェイで過ごします。

Day 4 (August 1) – Host Family Day 🏡
Early in the morning, Robert and Maddie visited Mt. Omuro, one of Ito City’s iconic landmarks. (No photos)
After that, Robert headed to the beach to enjoy the summer in Ito, while Maddie took part in a cooking experience and spent a relaxing day with her host family.

Day 4（8月1日） ホストファミリーデー🏡
早朝、RobertとMaddieは伊東市のシンボルのひとつである大室山を訪れました。（写真なし）
その後、Robertは海へ出かけて夏の伊東を満喫！Maddieは料理体験を楽しみながら、ホストファミリーとゆったりとした時間を過ごしました。

Day 3 | Host Family Day 🏡
Robert first observed a program where junior high school students help elementary school students with their homework. After that, he visited the Izu Shaboten Zoo, where he enjoyed spending time with the park’s most popular residents—the capybaras!

Maddie explored some of Izu’s most famous sights, including Shirahama Beach, Shimoda, Joren Falls, and Shuzenji. She also had the opportunity to experience wearing a kimono and enjoyed immersing herself in Japanese culture. 👘✨

Day 3｜ホストファミリーデー🏡
ロバートは、中学生が小学生に宿題を教える活動を見学した後、伊豆シャボテン動物公園へ！人気者のカピバラと触れ合い、楽しい時間を過ごしました。
マディは、白浜や下田、浄蓮の滝、修善寺など伊豆の名所を巡りました。さらに、着物体験も楽しみ、日本文化を満喫しました👘✨

Day 2
Today, Medway students visited Izu Ito High School, where they observed a variety of club activities and interacted with the students. It was a wonderful and meaningful experience for everyone.
今日、メドウェイの派遣生たちは、伊豆伊東高校を訪問し、さまざまな部活動を見学しました。生徒の皆さんとも交流し、とても有意義な時間を過ごすことができました。

【Students from Medway have arrived in Ito! 🇬🇧🇯🇵】
Four exchange students from our friendship city, Medway, UK, arrived safely at Haneda Airport.
Among them, Robert and Maddie traveled to Ito by car and received a warm welcome from their host families.
We hope their stay in Ito will be filled with wonderful encounters, new experiences, and unforgettable memories.

L’amicizia tra la città di Rieti e la città di Ito è stata resa possibile grazie a Renato Buccioni.
Venticinque anni fa, Renato ha avuto un ruolo fondamentale anche nella realizzazione dell’attuale Piazza Rieti a Ito.
Purtroppo Renato ci ha lasciati lo scorso anno. Il 21 luglio abbiamo restaurato il mosaico di Piazza Rieti insieme a sua figlia e a uno dei suoi nipoti, in visita a Ito per tre giorni e due notti a partire dal 20 luglio, insieme a tanti meravigliosi volontari.
Siamo certi che Renato ci abbia osservati dal cielo con un sorriso, felice di vedere tante persone unite nel preservare questo simbolo dell’amicizia tra le nostre due città.
Un grazie di cuore a tutti coloro che hanno partecipato. 🇮🇹🤝🇯🇵💙
イタリア・リエティ市と伊東市が友好都市となる礎を築いてくださったのが、レナート・ブッチョーニさんです。25年前には、現在の「リエティ広場」の整備にも尽力してくださいました。
昨年、惜しまれながらご逝去されましたが、7月21日、そのリエティ広場のモザイク修復作業を、20日から2泊3日で伊東を訪れていたブッチョーニさんの娘さんとお孫さんとお友達、そして多くの協会関係の皆さんと一緒に行いました。天国からレナートさんも、きっと喜びながら見守ってくださっていたことでしょう。
ご参加いただいた皆様、本当にお疲れ様でした。そして、ありがとうございました。🇯🇵🤝🇮🇹💙
The friendship between the City of Rieti, Italy, and the City of Ito was made possible thanks to Renato Buccioni.
Twenty-five years ago, he also played a leading role in creating what is now known as Rieti Piazza in Ito.

Sadly, Renato passed away last year. On July 21, we carried out restoration work on the mosaic at Rieti Piazza together with his daughter and a grandchild, who were visiting Ito with friends for three days and two nights starting on July 20, as well as many wonderful volunteers.
We are sure Renato was smiling down on us from heaven, happy to see everyone working together to preserve the symbol of friendship between our two cities.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part. 🇯🇵🤝🇮🇹💙
