Whilst creating their own game, our PolyU Explorers also gave ours a try.
Engaging in an adventure transgressing present and future in a search for long lasting food security.
PLAAAY.JP.Yugawara.Mikan sent them on a quest of discovery through Yugawara, providing them inspiration for their own design, as well as more knowledge on the location of their retreat.

There is an art to 'hanging out'; some would argue that we are losing this art. they might say "The digitisation of society has robbed us of our ability to properly socialise".
We don't think this is true. We believe that by curating space that allows individuals to express themselves without fear of recourse or judgement, we can achieve a state of sincere 'chill'. Throughout history there have been spaces for expression, ancient Roman Forum's, Renaissance plaza's, the Greek Agora – all allowing people to connect, express, and hang out.
This form of rest is integral to the artistic process, facilitating the evolution of concepts, and allowing motivation to once more bloom, where there may have been a block before.
DREEEM-LAB enables this by providing these spaces for rest, and socialising, and 'hanging out'. It allows artists to find the hope that they can still create as they desire.

Kristen and Vincent were tasked with bringing the game they had designed in the earlier stages of competition, to life.
Part of the being an Explorer, is total immersion in a new setting. In the past Yugawara has been visited and loved by novelists and poets alike; now it finds itself home to our Explorers, penning stories in a new format, but with just as much beauty and depth.
This immersion allowed our Explorers to develop their ideas, complete with inspiration from their surroundings - creating something entirely unique, yet also timeless.

Although we cultivate a space for creation of art in a non-literal sense, we do also provide a literal space for it.

DREEEM-LAB's spaces strive to create cultures of co-creation; EXP._Factory is one example of that. It is a place in which artists can experiment with new ideas, a space where they can exhibit them, and much more.

Physical venues for creation are just as important as the intangible, though digital art is important, not all forms can be fully appreciated in such a medium. Providing this space is both culturally enriching, and important to the individual.

"Gardening on the second day was the most memorable part of the workshop to me - as an interior design student, I rarely have the opportunity to engage in landscape design. It allowed me to appreciate that mastering the aesthetics of landscape is quite difficult"

- Kristen, 2024 Explorer program

Our Explorer program involves more than just game design. We aspire to stimulate and expand the skillset and worldviews of our Explorers!

DREEEM-LAB is a concept beyond physical space. It represents an area of safety, and a platform for growth for those that wish to express themselves in a creative manner.

Our laboratory for creative embodiment.

DREEEMLAB facilitates hope as a space for individuals to practice experimental self expression.

Spaces where people can chase their dreams, with support and in safety are rare to say the least. We believe that these spaces are important to the fabric of our beings; without dreams, there is no advancement, no solutions to every day problems. the individuals who dare to dream are those who give us HOPE for a better tomorrow.

Students from PolyU, Kristen and Vincent recently spent a few days at the EXP.Co-Onsen. Nestled between Atami and Yugawara, it's the perfect location for inspiration.

They were the latest winners of our EXP.lorers initiative. This aims to provide an immersive experience of creative entrepreneurship to young creatives.
We're looking forward to seeing and sharing the fruits of their labour.
