Stranding Network Hokkaido Contributing to the coexistence of humankind with marine ecosystems and the biodiversity conservation Stranding Network Hokkaido is a non-profit organisation.

We are aiming to contribute to the coexistence of humankind with marine ecosystems and the conservation of biodiversity by collecting information and specimens of stranded, adrift and bycatch cetaceans (whale, dolphin, porpoise, etc.) in Hokkaido, Japan, and distributing them to academic researchers, for assisting to cetacean research. The stranding records we have collected are published in GBIF,

a global biodiversity database, and contribute to the conservation of the Earth's biodiversity. https://doi.org/10.15468/f9y3xd
