Global Shapers Community ("GSC"), is a community of young people under 30 years old, born out of the World Economic Forum, that addresses local, regional issues as well as global challenges. In each city, teams of shapers self-organize and launch projects that address local needs. Shapers' areas of activity and expertise vary from education, economics, cultural traditions, and human rights, but they are united by a desire to make a difference in the city and society in which they live. As of June 2022, 25 young people from 5 countries are active members of the GSC Fukuoka Hub, the fourth hub in Japan. The hub continues to make proposals and questions that are made possible due to its diverse members, who are active in various fields both in Japan and abroad, such as online events on gender equality issues and classes for junior high school students on career advice. Global Shapers Community（以下GSC）は、世界経済フォーラムから生まれた30歳未満の若者のコミュニティで、地域や地方とグローバルな課題の双方に取り組んでいます。14,000人以上のメンバーを擁するGSCは、現在150カ国以上500近くの都市にハブと呼ばれる拠点を置いています。
各都市では、シェイパーから成るチームが自己組織化し、地域のニーズに対応するプロジェクトを立ち上げています。プロジェクトは、災害対応や貧困対策、気候変動対策、包括的なコミュニティーの構築など、多岐にわたっています。シェイパーの活動領域や専門知識は、教育・経済・文化伝統・人権についてなどさまざまですが、自分たちの住む街や社会に変化をもたらしたいという思いで結束しています。
GSC福岡ハブは、福岡市長の高島宗一郎をファウンディング・キュレーター（Founding Curator / 創設責任者）として、2014年に設立された日本で4番目のハブです。2022年6月現在、計5カ国25名の若者がアクティブなメンバーとして活動しており、ジェンダー平等の問題を扱うオンラインイベントや、中学生に対してキャリアについてのアドバイスを行う授業を開催するなど、国内外多分野で活躍するメンバーだからこそ可能な提言・問いかけを続けています。
