The ACCP On-Site Training Was Held in the Republic of Tunisia.

From August 17 to 21, 2026, the ACCP (African Clean Cities Platform) on-site training was held in Beja, Republic of Tunisia.
The ACCP is an organization established in 2017 by the Ministry of the Environment Japan, JICA, UN-Habitat and others. It promotes proper waste management in African cities and facilitates the sharing of relevant knowledge and experience with the aim of achieving the SDGs.

This training was held at a landfill that was just completed this year—the first in Tunisia to introduce the Fukuoka Method—and was attended by 11 government and municipal officials from five African countries. Under the guidance of experts from SWAN Fukuoka and technical staff from the Environment Bureau of Fukuoka City, the participants learned about Fukuoka Method technologies, such as embankment construction and the installation of gas venting pipes.

【チュニジアでACCPオンサイト研修が実施されました】

2026年8月17日～21日、チュニジア共和国のベジャにおいて、ACCP（アフリカのきれいな街プラットフォーム）のオンサイト研修が実施されました。
ACCPは、2017年に環境省やJICA等が設立した組織（FMGNのメンバーでもある国連ハビタットが事務局）であり、SDGsの達成を目指してアフリカの都市における適切な廃棄物管理を推進するとともに各種関連知識や経験の共有を行っています。

今回の研修は、今年福岡方式の埋立場が完成したばかりのベジャ埋立場で行われ、アフリカの5か国から政府や市の行政職員11名が参加しました。参加者たちは、SWAN Fukuokaの専門家や福岡市環境局の技術職員から指導を受けながら、福岡方式の技術であるガス抜き管の設置や築堤の造成、初期埋立の方法などを実地で学びました。

IGES and Fukuoka City will introduce the “Fukuoka Method” to Lao PDR!

On April 8, 2026, Fukuoka City and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) signed a cooperation agreement to improve waste management in Lao PDR, by introducing the “Fukuoka Method.”
Under this agreement, Fukuoka City will dispatch staff to Lao PDR and work with IGES to advance the project.

「福岡方式」がラオスへ！
（公財）地球環境戦略研究機関（IGES）と協力協定を締結しました。

2026年4月8日、（公財）地球環境戦略研究機関（IGES）が取り組む、ラオスへの「福岡方式」初導入プロジェクトを円滑に実施するため、福岡市と IGES で協力協定を締結いたしました。
市は今後、職員をラオスへ派遣し、長年にわたり培ってきた福岡方式の専門的知見を活かして技術的な助言を行うなど、福岡方式の導入に向け IGES とともにプロジェクトを進めてまいります。
