Let’s pray for our nations, our leaders, our local missions and one another. 
Let’s pray for courage where things are difficult. For provision where resources are scarce. For new leaders and new opportunities. For surfers to encounter Jesus. For the Surfathon and the Surfers Bibles it will help put into people’s hands. And for lasting fruit from everything God has already been doing.
Prayer isn’t passive. It is part of how we participate in God’s mission together.

The Unexpected Surfer With Andrew Jakus | The Christian Surfers Podcast

In this one, Mark Sawyer-Chu (Mark & Lydia Sawyer-Chu 🌊 SURF) sits down with Andrew () from the newly formed Christian Surfers Wisconsin team, as he shares the early story of launching a brand-new surf ministry chapter in the heart of the Great Lakes.
What makes this conversation so unique is the setting - surf culture far from the ocean, where Lake Michigan becomes both the playground and the mission field. Andrew unpacks how a simple vision for fellowship, surfing, and outreach has quickly grown into a movement of people responding to what they believe God is building in their region.
From an initial vision-casting breakfast hosted at home, to 27 responses of interest and leadership willingness, the momentum has been unmistakable. What began as a handful of conversations has turned into a committed leadership group gathering for meals, prayer, and planning as they prepare to launch their first official CS Wisconsin campout.

Riding Waves, Building Pools, Chasing Jesus with Noah Hamilton | The CS

In this energizing episode of Christian Surfers Talk Story, host Mark Sawyer-Chu links up with Noah Hamilton - Hollywood filmmaker, surf park developer/connoisseur, and brother of Bethany Hamilton - at Atlantic Park in Virginia Beach, the first Wave Garden facility in America. Special thanks to Bishard Homes for having us!

Noah opens up about growing up in a spiritually dry corner of paradise, Kauai, and how his parents’ faith took root there through a small band of Santa Cruz missionaries decades ago. From that foundation, Noah traces his own steady, unwavering walk with the Lord, his marriage to his college sweetheart Becky, and the tight-knit, faith-first family life that carried him through a decade working behind the scenes on major films like Jurassic World, Jumanji, and Kong: Skull Island, as well as faith-based projects including Soul Surfer, I Can Only Imagine, and the Reagan biopic.

The conversation turns to Noah’s next chapter: building wave pools as a mission field. He shares his vision for Boca Surf Park in Florida and a future project in Houston, describing surf parks as the “ski lift moment” for surfing - a way to make the sport accessible to inner-city kids, foster youth, adaptive athletes, and anyone who’s never had a wave in their backyard.

Prayer is simply talking with God - sharing what’s on our hearts, thanking Him, asking for help, listening, and praying for others. We can pray wherever we are, out loud or quietly. 
This August, we’re taking time to pray for our CS family in Costa Rica, Mexico, Ecuador and Hong Kong. Whether they’re surfing on the coast or living and serving in the cities, lets pray that they’ll be encouraged, strengthened in their faith, and reminded that they’re part of a global family. 🙏🌊

SURFISTAS DE CRISTO

Que privilégio vivenciar o que Deus tem feito através da comunidade dos Surfistas de Cristo!

Tive a honra de ser convidado para ministrar uma palavra para o pessoal do núcleo da Praia do Sapê, em Ubatuba. Foi um tempo de muita comunhão e presença de Deus na areia da praia.

É inspirador ver como esse ministério une a paixão pelo surf ao propósito do Evangelho. Tivemos um encontro lindo contando também com a presença dos líderes Cláudio e Ivonete (núcleo de Juquehy) e do André (núcleo Centro de Ubatuba).

Agradeço de coração ao Luciano, líder do núcleo do Sapê, pelo convite e nos abrindo essa porta para nós, e creio que grandes coisas estão por vir. E ao Mateus por toda a receptividade e carinho com que nos acolheu. Vocês são benção!

A HISTÓRIA DOS SURFISTAS DE CRISTO

O movimento nasceu em 1977, na Austrália, quando Brett Davis começou a reunir surfistas para compartilhar a fé. No Brasil, o ministério chegou em 1985 e desde então se espalhou por todo o litoral do país. Hoje, a organização internacional (Christian Surfers) está presente em mais de 40 países, conectando a cultura do surf com o amor de Deus e transformando vidas em praias espalhadas pelos cinco continentes.
