Hermès Foundation Missulsang

Fruit d’un engagement pérenne en faveur de la culture et des arts coréens, le Hermès Foundation Missulsang a fait de Jaemin Cha sa 21e lauréate.

Lancé en 2000, cette récompense est décernée à un jeune artiste coréen, qui bénéficie d’une bourse et d’une résidence à Paris. Son œuvre est ensuite présentée à l’Atelier Hermès, l’espace d’exposition de la Fondation à Séoul.

Maillage de rencontres et d’expérimentation entre artistes, publics et institutions, ce prix biennal met en lumière les projets inspirés par les nouvelles technologies et empreints d’une vision prospective.

Born from a genuine commitment to supporting Korea’s arts and culture, the Hermès Foundation Missulsang has selected Jaemin Cha as its 21st laureate.

Launched in 2000, this prize is awarded to a young Korean artist who receives a grant and undertakes a residency in Paris. Their work is then presented as a show at the Atelier Hermès, the Foundation’s exhibition space in Seoul.

An ongoing process of encounters and experimentation among artists, audiences and institutions, this biennial award favours projects inspired by cutting-edge technologies and imbued with a forward-looking vision.

Summer Class

Après le bois et la terre, l’𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲́𝗺𝗶𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗿-𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘂 𝗝𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗻 au Japon se consacre au métal sous toutes ses formes. Cette plate-forme collaborative d’expérimentation explore les techniques artisanales liées aux matériaux naturels. Dans le droit fil des sessions du printemps destinées aux étudiants, la “Summer Class“ organisée au SKAC à Tokyo rassemble un public plus large autour d’une exposition, d’ateliers pratiques et de conférences sur les textures infinies du métal.

Woojung Hoh en immersion

Carte blanche au sein des manufactures Hermès visant à stimuler l’imaginaire, le programme des 𝗥𝗲́𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗱’𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝘀 de la Fondation invite les plasticiens à expérimenter de nouvelles formes de production.

Ce printemps, la cristallerie Saint-Louis a acueillie l'artiste Coréen Woojung Hoh. Jouant des tensions entre visible et invisible, lumière et ombre, individu et collectif, il se frotte aux savoir-faire artisanaux des maîtres verriers afin de créer une œuvre originale. Chantre d’une peinture abstraite, il étoffe ici sa maîtrise des volumes via le travail du cristal.

Offering artists carte blanche within the Hermès workshops and stimulating their imagination, the Foundation’s 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀’ 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 invite them to experiment with new ways of making.

This spring, Cristallerie Saint-Louis welcomed Korean artist Woojung Hoh. Exploring the tensions between the visible and the invisible, light and shade, the individual and the collective, he draws on the artisanal skills of master glassmakers to create an original piece. A proponent of abstract painting, he engages with volumes through the medium of crystal.

Académie des savoir-faire au Japon : le métal

Lancée en 2021, l’𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲́𝗺𝗶𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗿-𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘂 𝗝𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗻 est un programme destiné à réinventer les connaissances et techniques artisanales autour d’un matériau. Après le bois et la terre, c’est au métal et à l’infinie variété de ses textures que se consacre la 3ᵉ édition. Prolongement naturel des ateliers de printemps, la "Summer class" associe exposition, rencontres et projections afin d’explorer toutes les facettes de cette matière universelle.

Skills Academy in Japan: Metal

Comment se lancer dans le grand bain ?

En plein Festival d’Avignon, dans le cadre de Transmission Impossible, 54 jeunes artistes, dont 25 issus du dispositif de bourses d’études de la Fondation, ont bénéficié d’un accès privilégié aux spectacles, aux répétitions et aux artistes. Sous la direction de la chorégraphe brésilienne Lia Rodrigues, ils mettent en scène leur expérience de “festivaliers embarqués” au sein de l'ancienne piscine du Mahabharata.

How do you take the plunge?

In the midst of the Festival d'Avignon, as part of Transmission Impossible, 54 young artists, including 25 from the Foundation’s bursary scheme, enjoyed privileged access to performances, rehearsals and artists. Under the direction of Brazilian choreographer Lia Rodrigues, they are staging together their experience as “festival insiders” in the former swimming pool of the Mahabharata bar.

À quoi rêve un jeune artiste ?

Immersion totale dans le Festival d’Avignon, “Transmission Impossible” permet aux bénéficiaires du dispositif de bourses d'études 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝗹𝗮 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗲́ de rencontrer des professionnels et d’assister aux spectacles de la programmation. Hybride par nature, leur restitution collective vise à mettre en forme les aspirations et réflexions d’une génération de jeunes artistes au contact de la création contemporaine la plus vivante.

What do young artists dream of?

An immersive experience in the Festival d'Avignon, “Transmission Impossible” allows graduates from the 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 study bursary programme to meet professionals and attend performances. Hybrid by nature, their collective performance aims to give shape to the aspirations and reflections of a generation of young artists as they engage with the most vibrant contemporary art scene.

Transmission Impossible ?

“Transmission Impossible” revient au Festival d'Avignon. En 2026, c’est la chorégraphe brésilienne Lia Rodrigues qui assure la direction artistique de ce nouveau projet. 54 jeunes artistes, dont 25 issus du dispositif de bourses d’études de la Fondation, sont invités à s’immerger au sein de cette édition du festival imaginée comme un laboratoire du spectacle vivant.

Inscrite dans le cadre du programme 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗹𝗮 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝗲́, cette initiative constitue un véritable tremplin professionnel.

“Transmission Impossible” returns to the Avignon Festival. In 2026, Brazilian choreographer Lia Rodrigues is the artistic director of this new project. 54 young artists, including 25 from the Foundation’s bursary scheme, will explore the festival as a true laboratory for the performing arts.

As part of the 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 programme, this initiative provides an essential springboard for their professional careers.

Clap de fin pour Transforme

Du Théâtre de la Cité internationale à Paris au Théâtre National de Bretagne à Rennes, en passant par La Comédie de Clermont-Ferrand et les SUBS à Lyon, la 3e édition de 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲 a fait rayonné la vitalité de la création scénique française et internationale. Plus de 17 641 spectateurs ont été sensibles à sa programmation hybride et plurielle.

Manufacto et Manuterra : finir l'année en beauté

C'est la fin de l'année pour les 2 350 apprentis artisans de 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼, 𝗹𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗿-𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗲, et les 1 060 jardiniers en herbe de 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮, 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝘂 𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁. Lancés par la Fondation, ces programmes initient les élèves du CM1 à la seconde aux métiers de la main et à la beauté des écosystèmes.

The last bell has rung for the 2,350 artisans at heart from 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆, and the 1,060 budding gardeners of 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮, 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱. Launched by the Foundation, these programs introduce students aged 9 to 15 to craftsmanship and the beauty of ecosystems.
