Shine On! Kids Supporting children with cancer and other serious illnesses in Japan and their families Kids is working towards the following goals:

1.

GOALS

Drawing from the personal experience of the Ferris’, and with the guidance of a quality Japanese medical advisory team, Shine On! To empower children with cancer and their families through counseling, education, club activities and sibling support.
2. To realize excellence in medical teams and treatment by providing additional medical staff, enabling collaboration among medical teams and su

pporting targeted research.
3. To raise awareness of childhood cancer in the community through academic circles, general public volunteering and corporate sponsor involvement.

Recently, Masa has been enjoying walks with his friend. His friend is a natural, always cheerfully saying, “Let’s go!” and leading the way.

One thing that especially caught his attention was the soft, squishy skin around Masa’s neck. It seems he couldn't resist giving it a gentle touch!

He's always happy to give Masa plenty of treats, like this plastic egg, and Masa gets just as excited when it’s time to "crack" it open and discover what's inside.

Ty went to support his friend as he headed to the operating room for a procedure.

He was receiving medication through an IV to help ease his nerves and anxiety, so he was starting to get a little drowsy. Even then, he kept looking over at Ty, making sure he was still by his side.

Oli recently made a new friend!

Cradled in their mother’s arms, the little one watched Oli with quiet curiosity, taking in every moment of their meeting. Knowing that both parents are devoted dog lovers made the encounter even more special.

A few gentle pats and affectionate cuddles were all it took to brighten Oli’s day.

Oli is already looking forward to the day when this little friend is a bit older. Perhaps then, they’ll have the chance to play together.

Masa and Ty had a fun day out over the weekend.

The duo enjoyed walking through the greenery, running around, and even having a few playful wrestling matches. It was a wonderful day filled with fun and adventure, and they also enjoyed spending time with their handlers.

Walking side by side, Masa enjoyed greeting friends, teachers, and nurses along the way. Every smile, gentle pet, and little treat made his day even more special.

Oli had an exciting day spending time with Annie and Masa!

People at the hospital sometimes ask, “Does Oli ever get to run around?” The answer is absolutely yes! Oli loves running, swimming, and enjoying playtime just like any other dog.

She even had a fun tug-of-war match with Masa. After lots of play and happy moments together, Oli was feeling refreshed and ready to brighten more days today!
