Shine On! Kids Supporting children with cancer and other serious illnesses in Japan and their families Kids is working towards the following goals:

1.

GOALS

Drawing from the personal experience of the Ferris’, and with the guidance of a quality Japanese medical advisory team, Shine On! To empower children with cancer and their families through counseling, education, club activities and sibling support.
2. To realize excellence in medical teams and treatment by providing additional medical staff, enabling collaboration among medical teams and su

pporting targeted research.
3. To raise awareness of childhood cancer in the community through academic circles, general public volunteering and corporate sponsor involvement.

Oli went to visit a friend who was feeling nervous before his surgery.

While Oli was in bed with him, he said, “I feel so calm when I’m with Oli.”

Oli's friend also helped develop the “Minna no Lemonade” (Everyone’s Lemonade) products 🍋. He works so hard — what a cool big brother for Oli!

They went for a walk together and played a fun treat game. Masa’s treats were wrapped up like little candies, and his friend did a great job helping him get them out!

It’s been hot every day, but everyone is doing their best to get through the summer together.

The other day, the Tokyo members of the Hospital Facility Dog team—Masa, Ivy, Tommy, and Mana went to the beach to have some fun!

They were fully prepared for the heat! They took an early morning walk in the park, then played together at the beach and had so much fun. Afterward, they headed home and enjoyed a nice, long nap.

What a refreshing and fun way to spend a summer day! ☀️

Annie, our retired facility dog, is enjoying the summer and doing well despite the heat!

Oli came by for a visit, but she had her eye on something very important—Annie’s brand-new toy!

Annie tried her best to tell her handler that Oli wouldn’t give it back. After finally getting her toy back, Annie happily settled down to play. But then it was Oli’s turn to make her own complaint! 😂

Even in the dog world, there’s always a little drama between friends.

Ty had so much fun spending time with his friend! They even stopped to strike a pose together, and Ty couldn't help but think they have the same kind eyes.

One of their favorite activities is a treasure hunt game. She hides a ball for Ty to find, but there's one little problem... she always ends up giving him a hint!

"The ball is over there!"

Thanks to the helpful clue, Ty quickly finds the ball and happily brings it back every time. 🐾

Oli cheered on her friend as she made her way to the operating room.

She held Oli's paw all the way to the door. Oli got lots of gentle pats; Oli looked completely content.

Hopefully, Oli's quiet presence brought her a little extra comfort and courage when she needed it most.

Masa and Oli had a wonderful time at the beach last weekend!

They went for a swim and enjoyed a walk through the lush greenery. Oli had fun diving underwater while they played, and Masa showed off his swimming skills by gliding through the water without even putting his face in!

Masa enjoyed a fun walk with his nephew, Tommy.

While it was still cool outside, they walked, ran, played tug-of-war, and rolled around together.
