الأسبوع الماضي، استقبلت جمعية النساء العربيات في مركزها بمحافظة إربد وفداً من السفارة النرويجية ومؤسسة المرأة للمرأة السويدية (KtK)، وذلك ضمن إطار مشروع "تعزيز قدرات النساء للتغلب على العنف المبني على النوع الاجتماعي" الذي يتم تنفيذه بالتعاون مع مؤسسة المرأة للمرأة السويدية في مراكز الجمعية في محافظتي المرفق واربد. هدفت الزيارة إلى الاطلاع على أوضاع النساء والفتيات المهمشات في المجتمعات المضيفة، وشكلت فرصة لاستعراض جهود الجمعية في دعم النساء والفتيات لمكافحة العنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي، وتعزيز مهاراتهن المهنية، وتمكينهن من إنشاء مشاريع مدرة للدخل.
كما شملت الزيارة جمعية النهضة للأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة، وهي شريك رئيسي ضمن مشروع" القوة النسوية من أجل حقوق النساء الاقتصادية"، الذي يهدف إلى تعزيز جهود الشابات العربيات اللواتي يواجهن التمييز المتعدد المبني على النوع الاجتماعي في العالم العربي، وتحويل النساء والشابات المشاركات من كل من الأردن ولبنان وفلسطين وتونس إلى قائدات من أجل التغيير من خلال مساءلة المسؤولين وتحسين الظروف الاقتصادية في القطاع غير المنظم. تضمن اللقاء مناقشات حول دور الجمعية في تقديم الخدمات للنساء والأشخاص ذوي الإعاق ضمن المشروع والمشاريع الاخرى التي تنفذها الجمعية.
تأتي هذه الزيارة في إطار تعزيز التعاون بين الشركاء من أجل بناء علاقات قوية ومستدامة لخدمة النساء والفتيات في المجتمعات المحلية.
Last week, the Arab Women Organization(AWO) in its center in Irbid Governorate received a delegation from the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Amman and the Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation (KtK), as part of the project "Strengthening Women's Capacity to Overcome Gender-Based Violence," which is implemented in collaboration with the Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation. The visit aimed to see the AWO efforts in Irbid Governorate to combat gender-based violence and provided an opportunity to showcase the organization’s efforts in supporting women and girls to combat gender-based violence, enhance their professional skills, and empower them to establish income-generating projects.
The visit also included the Al-Nahda Association for Persons with Disabilities, a key partner in the project FemPawer for Economic Rights of Women, which aims to support young women who face multiple forms of gender-based discrimination across the Arab world. The project seeks to transform participating women and young women from Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and Tunisia into leaders for change by holding officials accountable and improving economic conditions in the informal sector. Discussions during the visit focused on the association’s role in providing services to women and persons with disabilities.
This visit comes as part of enhancing cooperation among partners to build strong and sustainable relationships to serve women and girls in local communities.
