“You can spend your whole life traveling around the world searching for the Garden of Eden, or you can create it in your backyard."
- Khang Kijarro Nguyen
We are a group of motivated people who are passionate to learn about innovative ways to mitigate climate change. We are aiming to share this intention with a lovely community in Zarqa, with the support of various experts in topics ranging fro
m compost, hydroponic systems, permaculture design, zero waste lifestyle, and sustainable agriculture. We're aiming to support the local community to stand for environmentalism and sustainability in Zarqa city, following permaculture principles; Earth care, people care and fair share. The community will work together through a cooperative model approach and spread knowledge about sustainable agriculture, food security and climate change. We want to prioritize their agency and independence while having access to fresh and healthy food during this COVID-19 pandemic and in the years to come. Ultimately, the members of the cooperative will also be able to generate their own sustainable incomes by selling their products and produce, for which there is already a high local demand. We believe this sustainable agriculture and women’s empowerment project will create new sources of income, improve access to fresh produce, and enhance womens’ livelihoods in Zarqa. We are thankful for your support which will enable us to share the appropriate tools with this vibrant community, and we hope this project will serve as a model that can expand to surrounding communities in Jordan.
