Today, we share the tesimony of one of the Case Manager at Athar Association — a professional who works every day alongside women and girls at risk or survivors of GBV, ensuring they are heard and supported with care and dignity. Through the daily commitment of our local partners, safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental spaces become a reality for the community. A heartfelt thank you to all our partners for their dedication and the essential impact of their work, and to for their continuous support.

Meet our Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Expert, who has successfully led a series of capacity-building activities in collaboration with our local partners: , , and (SIGI).

Under the Masahat Amina II project, our strategy includes practical, on-the-ground training designed to strengthen Protection measures across all areas of intervention. These sessions cover key topics such as Protection and Gender Mainstreaming, Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP), and Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA). The training also addresses GBV, TF-GBV, child protection, psychological first aid, and safe referral.

These efforts aim to reduce harmful response practices and safeguard women and girls from gender-based violence during and after humanitarian interventions.

Thanks to the support of , UPP has provided training for 110 staff members from internal teams and partner organizations across Amman, Zarqa, and Irbid governorates. تعرفوا على خبيرة العنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي التي قادت سلسلة ناجحة من أنشطة بناء القدرات بالتعاون مع شركائنا المحليين:

ضمن مشروع مساحات آمنة 2، عم نشتغل على تدريب عملي وميداني يعزّز إجراءات الحماية بكل مناطق التدخل. الجلسات بتغطي مجموعة مواضيع أساسية مثل: تعميم الحماية والنوع الاجتماعي، المساءلة تجاه المجتمعات المتأثرة، والحماية من الاستغلال والانتهاك الجنسي. وكمان يتناول التدريب قضايا العنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي، العنف المرتبط بالاتجار، حماية الطفل، الإسعاف النفسي الأولي، والإحالة الآمنة.

هدفنا نقلّل من الممارسات الضارّة في الاستجابة الإنسانية، ونقوّي حماية النساء والفتيات خلال التدخلات الإنسانية وبعدها.

وبدعم من ، نجحت منظمة الجسر إلى في تدريب 110 موظفًا من فرقها الداخلية ومن الشركاء في عمّان والزرقاء وإربد.

In occasione della Giornata Internazionale delle Persone con Disabilità, celebriamo la conclusione di Sahati, un progetto che in Giordania ha messo al centro dignità, autonomia e inclusione. Grazie al sostegno dell' Otto per Mille Valdese, tra Amman, Zarqa e Irbid abbiamo supportato 283 persone con disabilità provenienti dalle comunità rifugiate siriane, irachene e palestinesi, e ovviamente dalla comunità ospitante giordana.
La nostra Mobile Unit ha raggiunto anche i quartieri più vulnerabili, offrendo riabilitazioni domiciliari, ausili per la mobilità, protesi e momenti formativi rivolti sia alle persone con disabilità che ai caregiver. Sono stati distribuiti oltre 300 ausili, restituendo movimento, autonomia e possibilità concrete nella vita quotidiana.
Oggi rinnoviamo il nostro impegno: costruire comunità più accessibili e inclusive significa creare spazi in cui ogni persona possa vivere con diritti, sicurezza e speranza. Affinché nessuno sia più lasciato indietro.

بمناسبة اليوم الدولي للأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة، نحتفل اليوم باختتام مشروع «صحّتي» في الأردن، وهو مشروع وضع الكرامة، والاستقلالية، والشمول في صميم عمله. وبفضل دعم أوتّو بير ميلي من الكنيسة الوالدنسية، قدّمنا خدماتنا لـ 283 شخصًا من ذوي الإعاقة في عمّان والزرقاء وإربد، من بينهم أفراد من مجتمعات اللاجئين السوريين والعراقيين والفلسطينيين، بالإضافة إلى أفراد من المجتمع الأردني المضيف.
لقد وصلت وحدتنا المتنقلة إلى أكثر الفئات ضعفًا في الأحياء المختلفة، وقدّمت خدمات إعادة التأهيل المنزلية، والمعينات الحركية، والأطراف الاصطناعية، بالإضافة إلى جلسات تدريبية للأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة ولمقدّمي الرعاية لهم. كما جرى توزيع أكثر من 300 جهاز مساعد أعاد الحركة والاستقلالية وفتح آفاقًا ملموسة في الحياة اليومية.
واليوم نُجدّد التزامنا: في بناء مجتمعات أكثر شمولًا وإتاحة يعني خلق بيئات يستطيع فيها كل شخص أن يعيش بحقوقٍ وأمانٍ وأمل ، لضمان ألا يُترك أحدٌ خلف الركب.

Today, we share the testimony of one of the participants in the Women and Girls Conversation Club, accompanied by our Sign Language interpreter.

Numerous studies by international organizations show that women with disabilities are at higher risk of physical, sexual, and emotional violence.

Our Women and Girls Conversation Club provides safe and inclusive spaces, designed to ensure that women with disabilities also have protected, discreet, non-stigmatizing access tailored to their needs.

A special thanks to and our local partners, whose support allows us to continue carrying out these essential initiatives.

Today we share the testimony of one of our participants in the Women and Girls Conversation Club, who reminds us how important it is for women and girls in the community to have safe spaces where they can address issues of gender-based violence and seek peer support and assistance.



Several reports recently published by NGOs working in Jordan highlight that protection services are lacking, especially for the most vulnerable, particularly women, children, and persons with disabilities.

Although the Jordanian government has promoted the adoption of national legal reforms and the ratification of important international conventions, including CEDAW, gender-based violence remains pervasive and support for women and girls who are victims of or at risk of GBV appears limited and insufficient.

According to , 35% of women in Jordan have experienced physical or sexual violence from their partner during their lifetime, and 55% report that gender-based violence is socially accepted in some communities, particularly marginalized ones, where domestic violence, emotional abuse, and economic deprivation are widespread. Economic hardship in areas of greater vulnerability often contributes to exacerbating the phenomenon of GBV.

Thanks to the support of and close collaboration with local partners, we are able to raise awareness and prevent gender-based violence in communities that are particularly at risk.

Thanks to the support of and the constant commitment of our local partners, Un Ponte Per has organized 64 sessions for 160 women and girls, creating a space for listening and dialogue on sensitive and delicate issues related to gender-based violence.

From our office in Amman, our team works hand in hand with local communities and partners to foster resilience, protect cultural heritage, and support inclusive development across Jordan.
