اختتمت الشبكة الإسلامية لتنمية وإدارة مصادر المياه (INWRDAM)، وبالتعاون مع الاتحاد من أجل المتوسط (UfM) وبدعم من الوكالة السويدية للتعاون الدولي (Sida)، فعاليات البرنامج التدريبي المتخصص بترابط المياه والطاقة والغذاء والبيئة (WEFE Nexus) في الأردن، والذي استمر على مدار أسبوعين خلال الفترة من 3 إلى 14 مايو 2026.

وشهد البرنامج مشاركة فاعلة من ممثلي وزارة المياه والري، ووزارة الطاقة والثروة المعدنية، ووزارة الزراعة، ووزارة البيئة، إلى جانب مشاركين من القطاع الأكاديمي ومؤسسات حكومية أخرى، بالإضافة إلى مشاركة إقليمية مميزة من متدربين من عدد من دول المنطقة عبر المشاركة عن بعد، مما عزز تبادل الخبرات والمعارف الإقليمية في مجال ترابط القطاعات الحيوية.

وركز البرنامج التدريبي على تعزيز الفهم المتكامل للعلاقة بين القطاعات المختلفة، وبناء قدرات المشاركين على تطبيق نهج الترابط في عمليات التخطيط وصنع القرار، بما يدعم تحقيق التنمية المستدامة وتعزيز كفاءة إدارة الموارد الطبيعية.

كما تناول التدريب مجموعة من المحاور الرئيسية، شملت الإدارة المتكاملة للموارد، والموارد المائية غير التقليدية، وأنظمة الري الحديثة، والزراعة المستدامة، والتقنيات الذكية وابتكارات المياه والطاقة، إضافة إلى تنفيذ زيارات ميدانية تطبيقية لمواقع ريادية في الأردن، أتاحت للمشاركين الاطلاع على تجارب عملية ناجحة وربط الجوانب النظرية بالتطبيقات الميدانية.

واختتمت فعاليات البرنامج التدريبي بتسليم الشهادات والدروع التقديرية للمشاركين، من قبل عطوفة المهندسة مها المعايطة، مساعد الأمين العام لوزارة البيئة، تقديرًا لمشاركتهم الفاعلة في البرنامج التدريبي.

ويُعد هذا البرنامج خطوة مهمة نحو تعزيز التعاون المؤسسي والإقليمي، ودعم الجهود الوطنية والإقليمية لتبني نهج الترابط كأداة فاعلة لتحقيق الاستدامة والتكامل بين القطاعات المختلفة.

INWRDAM, in cooperation with the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and with the support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), successfully concluded the Water–Energy–Food–Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus Training Program in Jordan, which was held over two weeks from 3 to 14 May 2026.

The training brought together participants from the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Ministry of Environment, alongside participants from academia and other governmental institutions. The program also witnessed distinguished regional participation from trainees across several countries in the region through online attendance, fostering regional knowledge exchange and experience sharing on the WEFE Nexus approach.

The program aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of the interlinkages between the sectors, while enhancing their capacities to apply the Nexus approach in planning and decision-making processes to support sustainable development and integrated resource management.

The training covered a wide range of key themes, including integrated resource management, non-conventional water resources, digitized irrigation systems, sustainable agriculture, smart technologies, and water–energy innovations. In addition, participants took part in practical field visits to leading sites in Jordan, providing valuable exposure to successful real-life applications and linking theoretical knowledge with practical implementation.

The training program concluded with the distribution of certificates and shields to participants by Eng. Maha Al Maaytah, Assistant Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment, in recognition of their efforts and active participation to the success of the program.

This training program represents an important step toward strengthening institutional and regional cooperation and supporting national and regional efforts to adopt the WEFE Nexus approach as an effective tool for sustainability and cross-sectoral integration.

انطلقت يوم الأحد الموافق 3 مايو 2026 فعاليات البرنامج التدريبي المتخصص بترابط المياه والطاقة والغذاء والبيئة (WEFE Nexus) في الأردن، والذي تنظمه الشبكة الإسلامية لتنمية وإدارة موارد المياه (INWRDAM) بالتعاون مع الاتحاد من أجل المتوسط (UfM) وبدعم من الوكالة السويدية للتعاون الدولي (Sida)، وذلك بمشاركة ممثلين من أربع وزارات رئيسية وهي وزارة المياه والري ووزارة الطاقة والثروة المعدنية و وزارة الزراعة ووزارة البيئة جانب كفاءات من القطاع الأكاديمي ومؤسسات حكومية أخرى، وبمشاركة إقليمية لمشاركين عن بعد من عدة دول عربية وعلى مدار أسبوعين.

يهدف هذا البرنامج التدريبي إلى تعزيز الفهم المتكامل للعلاقة بين القطاعات الحيوية، وبناء قدرات الكوادر الوطنية على تطبيق نهج ترابط المياه والطاقة والغذاء والبيئة في عمليات التخطيط وصنع القرار. وقد تم تصميم البرنامج التدريبي استنادًا إلى احتياجات الوزارات المشاركة التي تم تحديدها مسبقًا، بما يضمن مواءمته مع الأولويات الوطنية والتحديات القائمة.

ويغطي التدريب مجموعة من المحاور الرئيسية، تشمل مفاهيم ترابط WEFE والإدارة المتكاملة للموارد، والموارد المائية غير التقليدية وأنظمة الري الحديثة، إضافة إلى الزراعة المستدامة واستخدامات الأراضي، والتقنيات الذكية وابتكارات المياه والطاقة، إلى جانب تطبيقات عملية من خلال زيارات ميدانية لمواقع ريادية في الأردن.

The Water–Energy–Food–Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus Training Program in Jordan officially commenced on Sunday, May 3, 2026, organized by INWRDAM, in cooperation with the UfM with the spport from SIDA. The two weeks training brings together representatives from four key ministries: the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Ministry of Environment, alongside experts from the academic sector and other governmental institutions. It also includes regional participation, with attendees joining remotely from several Arab, The training aims to strengthen a comprehensive understanding of the interlinkages between key sectors and to build the capacities of national stakeholders to apply the WEFE Nexus approach in planning and decision-making processes. The training program has been designed based on the previously identified needs of the participating ministries, ensuring alignment with national priorities and sectoral challenges.

The training covers a range of key themes, including the WEFE Nexus and integrated resource management, non-conventional water resources and modern irrigation systems, sustainable agriculture and land use, as well as smart technologies and water–energy innovations. It also includes practical components through field visits to leading sites in Jordan.

اختُتمت في العاصمة القاهرة اليوم، فعاليات برنامج التدريب الإقليمي حول ترابط المياه والطاقة والغذاء والنظم البيئية (WEFE Nexus)، الذي نظمته INWRDAM بالشراكة مع وزارة الموارد المائية والري، وبتنفيذ من معهد مياه الصرف التابع لـ المركز القومي لبحوث المياه، وبدعم من الوكالة السويدية للتنمية الدولية والاتحاد من أجل المتوسط.

وشهد حفل الختام حضور معالي الأستاذ الدكتور هاني سويلم وزير الموارد المائية والري، وسعادة السيد عارف غريب رئيس قطاع مياه النيل، والدكتور أيمن السعدي نائب رئيس المركز القومي لبحوث المياه، والدكتور محمد شعبان رئيس معهد مياه الصرف.

على مدار أسبوعين، شكّل البرنامج منصة تفاعلية متميزة جمعت مشاركين من مصر والى جانب مشاركين من خمس دول عربية وهي سوريا ولبنان والمغرب والجزائر وتونس، حيث تم تعزيز الفهم المتكامل لترابط قطاعات المياه والطاقة والغذاء والنظم البيئية بما يخدم الظروف المحلية في جمهورية مصر العربية.

وتوّجت فعاليات البرنامج بحضور معالي الوزير والاشادة بأهمية التدريب وأهميتة في بناء القدرات وتطوير الكفاءات للكوادر الفنية المختلفة التابعة للوزارة وذلك لمواجهة التحديات المائية والبيئية الراهنة.

ويأتي هذا البرنامج تأكيداً على أهمية الشراكات الإقليمية والدولية في دعم الحلول المتكاملة والمستدامة، وتعزيز التعاون لمواجهة التحديات المشتركة في المنطقة.

وقد تفضل معالي الوزير بتوزيع الشهادات على المتدربين وبحضور سعادة الدكتور مروان الرقاد المدير التنفيذي للشبكة الاسلامية لتنمية وادارة مصادر المياه وأبدى المشاركين شكرهم وتقديرهم للوزارة والشبكة على تقديم هذا البرنامج الاحترافي الذي لاقى استحسانهم وزودهم بالمعرفة النظرية والعملية للتوسع في توظيف الترابط بين المياه والطاقة والغذاء والنظم البيئية في مختلف القطاعات المائية في جمهورية مصر العربية.

The regional training program on the Water–Energy–Food–Ecosystems Nexus (WEFE Nexus), organized by INWRDAM in partnership with the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, implemented by the Drainage Research Institute of the National Water Research Center, and supported by Sida and the Union for the Mediterranean, concluded today in Cairo.

The closing ceremony was attended by H.E. Prof. Hani Sewilam, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation; Mr. Aref Gharib, Head of the Nile Water Sector; Dr. Ayman El Saadi, Vice President of the National Water Research Center; and Dr. Mohamed Shaaban, Head of the Drainage Research Institute.

Over the course of two weeks, the program served as a distinguished interactive platform, bringing together participants from Egypt alongside participants from five Arab countries—Syria, Lebanon, Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia. The program strengthened integrated understanding of the interlinkages between water, energy, food, and ecosystems in a manner tailored to local conditions in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The program concluded with the presence of H.E. Sweilam, who commended the importance of the training in building capacities and enhancing the competencies of various technical staff within the Ministry to address current water and environmental challenges.

This program reaffirms the importance of regional and international partnerships in supporting integrated and sustainable solutions, and in fostering cooperation to address shared challenges across the region.

H.E. Sweilam also honored the trainees by awarding certificates, in the presence of H.E. Dr. Marwan Al-Raggad, Executive Director of INWRDAM. Participants expressed their sincere appreciation to the Ministry and INWRDAM for delivering this high-quality program, which was well received and provided them with both theoretical and practical knowledge to further apply the WEFE Nexus approach across different water-related sectors in Egypt.

أطلقت الشبكة الإسلامية لتنمية وإدارة مصادر المياه (INWRDAM) يوم أمس فعاليات برنامج التدريب الإقليمي حول ترابط المياه والطاقة والغذاء النظام البيئي (WEFE Nexus) في القاهرة – جمهورية مصر العربية، بالشراكة الوثيقة مع وزارة الموارد المائية والري في جمهورية مصر العربية، وبتنفيذ من معهد بحوث الصرف التابع للمركز القومي لبحوث المياه.
ويستهدف البرنامج مجموعة من المشاركين الذين تم اختيارهم من مختلف المراكز والمعاهد التابعة للوزارة، إلى جانب مشاركين من خمسة دول عربية وهي سوريا ولبنان والمغرب والجزائر وتونس ، مما يعزز تبادل الخبرات والمعرفة على المستويين الوطني والإقليمي.
شهد اليوم الأول انطلاقة مميزة، حيث تضمن جلسة افتتاحية للتعريف بالبرنامج وأهدافه، إلى جانب تقديم مفهوم ترابط المياه والطاقة والغذاء والنظام البيئي (WEFE Nexus) وأهميته في تحقيق الاستدامة. كما تم استعراض مبادئ الإدارة المتكاملة للموارد، وتنفيذ أنشطة تفاعلية لتعزيز فهم المشاركين للعلاقات المتداخلة بين القطاعات المختلفة.

INWRDAM launched yesterday the activities of the regional training program on the WEFE Nexus in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt, in close partnership with the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and implemented by the Drainage Research Institute of the National Water Research Center.

The program targets a group of participants selected from various centers and institutes affiliated with the Ministry, in addition to participants from five Arab countries: Syria, Lebanon, Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia. This contributes to enhancing the exchange of knowledge and expertise at both national and regional levels.

The first day witnessed a strong and engaging start, featuring an opening session introducing the program and its objectives, along with a presentation of the WEFE Nexus concept and its importance in achieving sustainability. The day also included an overview of integrated resource management principles, as well as interactive activities aimed at strengthening participants’ understanding of the interlinkages between different sectors.

The program will continue over a period of two weeks and has been designed to combine both theoretical and practical training, thereby enhancing participants’ capacities to develop integrated and sustainable solutions to regional challenges.

شاهدوا حلول فيضانات صحراء الأردن من السماء.

من الأعلى، تبدو الصحراء جافة وصامتة…
لكن خلال ساعات، تتحول الأمطار الغزيرة إلى سيول سريعة تجتاح الأرض، وتهدد المدن والطرق وسبل العيش.

هذه المياه ليست مشكلة يجب التخلص منها،
بل مورد يجب إدارته بحكمة.

في الأزرق، لم نواجه السيل بالقوة، بل عملنا مع الطبيعة.
قمنا بانشاء سدود تسريبية لإبطاء الجريان، وتوجيه المياه، ومراعاة احتياجات المناطق الواقعة في المصب، فتم تقليل مخاطر الفيضانات، وتعزيز تغذية المياه الجوفية، وعودة الحياة إلى المشهد الصحراوي .

هكذا تلتقي العِلم والحلول القائمة على الطبيعة والتخطيط الذكي في صحراء الأردن.

From above, the desert looks dry and silent —
