Jordanian organization founded in 2015 created to support and development of activities on the local, national and international levels in the area of non-formal education, using free time, cultural social and volunteering practice for the community of youth people and its alignment to the objectives of the EU Agenda 2030. Our mission is to support and raise the education level of young people from different social groups, help youth achieve their goals, unite active youth together, and create better conditions for their experience and knowledge exchange.

As part of Digital Discernment: Navigating Social Media and Propaganda project, we successfully held our second focus group, creating another valuable space for young people to share their experiences, reflect on today's digital landscape, and discuss the growing impact of misinformation and online propaganda.

The session was moderated by Mariam and Saleem, who guided insightful discussions and encouraged participants to think critically about digital content, media consumption, and responsible online engagement.

The perspectives gathered through these discussions will contribute to shaping practical tools and educational resources that empower young people with stronger media literacy skills and greater digital resilience.

As part of Culinary Beginnings: Basic Cooking Skills for Independent Youth, we held our first focus group at the SYL Office in Amman Jordan ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ด, bringing together 9 members to explore the transition to independent living and the practical skills needed to manage everyday life.

๐Ÿ  Focus Group 1: Transition to Independent Living
The discussion explored autonomy, life skills and daily life management, giving participants space to share their experiences of balancing studies or work with financial responsibilities, household tasks, food preparation and life away from family.
One message came through strongly: independence is about much more than moving away from home. It means learning how to manage money, organise your time, prepare your own meals, make responsible decisions and handle everyday responsibilities with confidence.

And when participants were asked which skills matter most? Basic cooking skills ranked first, followed by time management, food budgeting, and cleaning and kitchen hygiene.

These voices will help shape the next stages of Culinary Beginnings, ensuring that the project responds to the real needs and experiences of young people as they move toward greater independence.

As part of EMPASY โ€“ Emotional Literacy and Participatory Approaches to Support Youth Mental Health project, Support Youth Leaders (SYL) hosted a Youth Roundtable at the SYL Office in Amman, Jordan, creating a safe and interactive space where young people could openly discuss their experiences, challenges, and ideas related to mental health and emotional wellbeing.

The session encouraged participants to share their perspectives on the importance of emotional literacy, meaningful participation, and accessible support systems for young people. Through open dialogue and collaborative discussions, participants explored practical ways to foster more inclusive, supportive, and youth-friendly communities.

The roundtable was professionally moderated by Sondos Abdallah, whose engaging facilitation ensured that every participant had the opportunity to contribute, exchange ideas, and shape the conversation.

The insights gathered during the session will play an important role in informing the project's future activities and developing approaches that reflect the real needs, aspirations, and experiences of young people.

A heartfelt thank you to all the young participants for their enthusiasm, honesty, and commitment to creating positive change. Your voices are essential in building a future where mental health is understood, supported, and prioritized.
