Since its founding on May 19, 1958, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom has not only been a voice for in Germany, but has also worked around the world to promote freedom, human rights, the rule of law, democracy and free markets. 🌍
Every day, we work to empower people through scholarships, training programs and educational projects. We encourage people to speak up, get involved and become politically active. 💪

FNF MENA, in cooperation with our partners the Atlas Network and the Arab Center for Research, was pleased to host and participate in the Arab Liberty Forum in Marrakech from 4–7 February.

This important gathering convened policy experts, civil society representatives, and regional leaders for four days of substantive dialogue focused on democratic governance, economic opportunity, and regional stability.

The programme included the Averroes Policy Forum, where fellows presented in-depth research and policy recommendations, followed by a dynamic exchange in the Liberal Hall. There, we presented our ongoing work in the region and the AHLN network to an engaged audience of participants and decision-makers.

The forum concluded by marking ten years of the Arab Liberty Forum. In a keynote panel, our Regional Director for the MENA region, Mr Jörg Dehnert, highlighted the continued challenges to freedom and underscored the indispensable role of dialogue, civic engagement, and a robust civil society as the foundation for sustainable democratic development.
