We brings hope, healing, and a future to little hearts in need. تهدف جمعية هدية الحياة على تقديم المعونة المادية والتنسيق لإجراء عمليات جراحيه للقلب وتدخلات قسطريه لمعالجة الأطفال الذين يولدون بعيب خلقي في القلب من العائلات الفقيرة والأقل حظا في الأردن. ومنذ تأسيس الجمعية ساعدت حوالي ٦٢٠ طفل من عدة جنسيات أردنية وفلسطينية وسوريه وعراقية

و مصرية وأخرى. إضافة الى ذلك فان الجمعية تتابع مع الأطفال بعد اجراء العمليات حيث ان البعض يحتاج لأكثر من عملية.

• تم اجراء ما يقرب عن ٦٢٠ عملية وتدخلات قسطريه لعلاج اطفال من ذوي تشوهات خلقيه في القلب.
• تمت العمليات بكوادر طبية الأردنية وأمريكية متخصصة.
• يتم حوالي 3 او 4 حملات سنويا ( اثنان بكوادر اردنية وثلاثة او اثنين بالتنسيق مع كوادر طيبة متخصصة عالمية)

GOLA conducts 2-3 missions every year at Al-Khalidi Medical Center, which bring together volunteer medical professionals from Jordan and the Riley Hospital for Children in the United States, as well as other medical professionals the Czech Republic, to perform life-saving cardiac surgeries and intensive aftercare for underprivileged children suffering from Congenital Heart Defect. Each medical mission witnesses extraordinary collaboration between Jordanian, American and European medical personnel. This mutually beneficial exchange of medical practices helps in developing life-long friendships - not only between the medical teams, but with the patients' families as well. In addition to providing care, the medical team aims to strengthen relationships, build a coalition of allied hospitals and establish telemedicine sites for future collaboration between Riley Hospital for Children and Middle Eastern health professionals from countries such Jordan, Iraq, Syria, Palestine and Egypt. The number of heart missions combined witnessed more than 600 life-saving cardiac surgeries for children from Jordan, Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Egypt and other parts of the Middle East. Update on our little hearts 💕

Nour & Yazan were discharged and sent home today to their anxiously awaiting loved ones by Dr Khaled Salaymeh.

The two Palestinian babies who had their VSD’s closed & mended on day 4 of the joint mission by Dr Mark Turrentine recovered well and left the ICU day before yesterday and went back home today healthy & happy 💕💕💕

We still have Ibrahim & Al Yaman in the ICU and Joud & Hour down in the rooms.

Next update with more good news announcing hopefully the discharge of more little hearts back home 🏡 Our partners in this mission Chain of Hope, Riley Hospital for Children and Al Khalidi Hospital wish all of our beautiful hearts speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

Day 2 of the joint mission saw the 3rd and final procedure for our GOLA child 9 year old Joud from the beautiful Mediterranean coastal Syrian city Latakia.

The Fontan procedure is a staged, open-heart surgery for children born with a single functional ventricle. It directs deoxygenated blood directly from the lower body to the lungs, bypassing the heart’s right side to reduce the workload on the single ventricle and increase blood oxygenation

Surgeons connect the inferior vena cava (vein carrying blood from the lower body) directly to the pulmonary artery (lung artery), often using a conduit or tunnel.

Joud is recovering well surrounded by his parents and in the capable hands of Dr Riad, Dr Kamal, Dr Khaled and the Khalidi ICU team.

Then our cutie 3.5 months old Princess Lia from Jordan had her anomaly repaired by the surgeons Dr Mark & Dr Halkawt and was sent to her room today from the ICU after her speedy recovery 🙏💫🍀

God bless all who were involved in this humanitarian mission and action. We are grateful for the collaboration of a number of partners to coordinate this mission, including Riley Hospital for Children, Chain of Hope, Al Khalidi Hospital, Dr Khaled Salaymeh, Gift of Life Indiana, The Josh Lindblom Foundation and Rotary Club of Greenfield.

As our little hearts heal at Al Khalidi Medical Center, Dr Khaled Salaymeh continues his rounds and will accompany them till their release from the ICU to the rooms and aventually to their homes and awaiting loved ones.

Day 1

On the first day of the 45th joint international mission Gift of Life Amman, Chain of Hope UK and Riley Hospital for Children Indiana 3 life saving operations and 1 Cath were performed and 3 little hearts were mended by the healing hands of Paediatric surgeons Dr Mark Turrentine & Dr Halkawt Nuri

2 years old Adam from Syria and 5 year old Elias from Palestine had the holes in their little hearts mended giving them a normal oxygen flow that has radiated on their cute faces.

Hour from Palestine had her operation straight after and is recovering well in the Khalidi Paediatric ICU along with Adam & Elias. Dr Riad Lutfi, Dr Kamal Abulebda and Dr Khaled Salaymeh follow up closely on their progress 💝

Later during the day Dr Khaled performed a Cath were he mended and prepared Syrian 9 year old Joud Ghadeer’s little heart in preparation for his major operation on Day 2

We are grateful for the collaboration of a number of partners to coordinate this mission, including Riley Hospital for Children, Chain of Hope, Al Khalidi Hospital, Dr Khaled Salaymeh, Gift of Life Indiana, The Josh Lindblom Foundation and Rotary Club of Greenfield.

Against all odds 💝💫🍀

Defying all turbulent situations and travel restrictions our volunteering teams bear the rod of humanity taking the little hearts healing under the priority first motto 💝

After the 10 little hearts mended last month during the Italian team 5th mission. The 45th joint mission of Gift of Life Amman with Riley Hospital for Children and Chain of Hope UK has debuted today at Al Khalidi Hospital for Children.

The team arrived yesterday afternoon from the US and headed straight into the screening room with our own Dr Khaled Salaymeh Paediatric Cardiologist volunteering team member.

10 little hearts were screened awaiting their life saving surgeries this week.

The team is headed by Dr Mark Turrentine Paediatric Heart Surgeon assisted in the OR by Surgeon Dr Halkwat Nuri from the UK and the ICU is under the watchful eyes of ICU Pediatric specialists Dr Riad Lutfi & Dr Kamal Abulebda. All assisted by the Al Khalidi team our partners since long 💫💫💫

A final thank you to our precious volunteers, partners, donors and supporters without whom those little hearts wouldn’t have had a chance to fight, heal & recover 🙏💫💝

- *Sidra*, 2 months old, from Syria 🇸🇾, fighting Aortic coarctation 💪! This little one had an immediate operation and is now HOME SAFE! Her dad and uncle are overjoyed to finally take her home!
- *Ahmed*, 7 months old, battling Large PDA 💪! This triplet had a successful surgery and is heading home to his family 🎉! Dad’s a tailor, working hard to provide... and now Ahmed’s heart is fixed 🥰!

We’re thrilled to announce our (5th) charity campaign in partnership with Gift of Life INC New York and Istituto Giannina Gaslini Hospital’s Italian medical team, led by surgeons Dr. Francesco Santoro and Dr. Elena Ribera. The team, alongside our dedicated partner Dr. Khaled Salaymeh, will perform life-changing congenital heart surgeries at Al Khaldi Hospital.

The team consists of Dr Andrea paediatric cardiologist and ICU doctors Ricardo and Maria, ICU nurses Giada and Ziad and Dr Hasan Moammar from Palestine anaesthesiologist.

This milestone marks our (51st) medical mission with international medical delegations, reinforcing our commitment to delivering hope and care to children in need.

The Final two days of the 44th joint mission between Gift of Life Amman, Riley Hospital for Children and Rotary Club of Greenfield Indianan was concluded today with Rashed’s open heart surgery.

Before that 9 year old Raghad and 1 year old Kamel from Syria and 7 year old Adam from Palestine went through their heart saving surgeries done by Dr Mark Turrentine and his volunteering team from Riley Hospital for Children.

As our little hearts heal at Al Khalidi Medical Center, Dr Khaled Salaymeh continues his rounds and will accompany them till their release from the ICU to the rooms and eventually to their homes and awaiting loved ones 💝
