4,200 Saplings to Keep the People of Kafr Ra’i Rooted

في ظل تصاعد موجة الاعتداءات من الاحتلال على قرى جنين، استجابت العربية لحماية الطبيعة بتدخل عاجل لدعم مزارعي قرية كفر راعي، بعد تعرض جزء كبير من الأراضي الزراعية لاعتداءات المستوطنين، من خلال توفير 4200 شتلة من أشجار اللوزيات والكرز، تمت زراعتها على مساحة 232 دونماً، ليستفيد منها نحو 175 عائلة زراعية.

Amid the occupation’s escalating wave of attacks across Jenin, APN responded with an urgent intervention to support farmers in the village of Kafr Ra’i. After settler assaults damaged vast swathes of farmland, we distributed 4,200 stonefruit and cherry saplings which were planted across 232 dunums, strengthening the steadfastness of 175 farming families.

حين تعود الأرض اليوم لتقدم ألوانها من جديد. محاصيل نمت بجهد مزارعيها، وبمساندة كل الذين آمنوا معنا أن الاستثمار في الزراعة هو استثمار في الحياة والبقاء.
قد تُثقل التحديات المواسم، ومن بين كل الصعوبات يخرج الزرع والثمار بوعد أن الأرض لا تتخلى عن أصحابها.

The vibrant colors of fresh produce are slowly returning to the land. These crops are the result of farmers’ unwavering dedication, supported by everyone who stood with us in the belief that investing in agriculture is an investment in life, steadfastness, and sovereign recovery.
The seasons may be burdened by unrelenting challenges, yet even in the face of adversity, crops continue to be grown and harvests continue to be yielded - a promise that the land does not abandon those who care for it.

من خليتي نحل إلى منصة التخرج|How Beekeeping Carried a Daughter Through University

قبل سنتين، وفّرت العربية لحماية الطبيعة لسيدة خليتي نحل، لتبدأ رحلة إنتاج العسل، وتوسع مشروعها تدريجيًا حتى تضاعفت الخلايا إلى 7، وأصبح هذا الدخل وسيلتها لتأمين أقساط التعليم الجامعي لابنتها حتى تخرجت، في تزامنٍ لافت بين موسم إنتاج العسل وفترة التسجيل الجامعي.
لنواصل معاً دعم المزارعين ومنتجي الغذاء.
Two years ago, APN provided 2 beehives to a woman to begin her honey production journey. Over time, she gradually expanded her project, growing the total number of hives to seven. This income became her means of covering her daughter’s university tuition fees until she graduated. In a striking alignment between the honey production season and the university enrollment period, this is yet another example of how supporting local agriculture strengthens society at all levels.

⁨ 11,500 كغم جديدة من القمح حصدناها من وسط وجنوب غزة | 11,500 kg of Wheat Harvested Across Central and Southern Gaza

نعمل في العربية لحماية الطبيعة على مسار مختلف يقوم على تعزيز الإنتاج المحلي بعيداً عن قرارات الاحتلال في إغلاق وفتح المعابر التي تتحكم في تدفق الغذاء والبضائع والمساعدات، بما يهدد حياة الناس بالجوع بشكل مستمر.
على مساحة 46 دونمًا في وسط وجنوب غزة، زرعنا القمح مع عدد من العائلات الزراعية، فكانت الحصيلة نحو 11,500 كغم، تكفي لصناعة قرابة 100 ألف رغيف خبز.
هذا الرقم لا يُقدَّم كإنجاز زراعي بقدر ما يسلّط الضوء على فكرة أساسية:
كلما زاد اعتماد الناس على غذائهم المحلي، خفّ أثر القيود على حياتهم اليومية وعلى حقهم الأساسي في الخبز.

APN pursues a unique path focused on strengthening local production. We resist the chokehold of the occupation’s policies that control the opening and closing of crossings, regulating the flow of food, aid, and essential supplies in a way that keeps our people on the brink of mass starvation.
Across 46 dunums of land in central and southern Gaza, we cultivated wheat with several farming families, yielding a harvest of around 11,500 kg - that’s enough to produce nearly 100,000 loaves of bread.
This figure is not presented as an agricultural achievement alone, but as a reflection of a core principle guiding our work: the greater the reliance on locally produced food, the less impact external restrictions have on daily life and access to bread.

مستقبل الغذاء يبدأ من المعرفة | Our Path to Food Sovereignty Begins with Knowledge

من مقاعد الدراسة إلى حقول المستقبل، التقى 52 طالبًا وطالبة من كلية الزراعة التكنولوجية في جامعة البلقاء التطبيقية مع فريق "لو تعرف" في محاضرة حملت عنوان "مهندس زراعي المستقبل: من الحقل إلى السيادة الغذائية".
ناقشنا فيها واقع الزراعة في الأردن والتحديات التي يواجهها المزارعون يوميًا، وتبادلنا الأفكار حول دور الجيل الجديد من المهندسين الزراعيين في ابتكار حلول عملية تعزز السيادة الغذائية وتحمي القطاع الزراعي، لأن كل فكرة مبتكرة اليوم قد تصبح مشروعًا يسهم في تحقيق سيادتنا الغذائية غدًا.

From the classroom to the fields of the future, 52 students from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology at Al-Balqa Applied University joined the “If Only You Knew” team in a lecture titled “The Agricultural Engineer of the Future: From the Field to Food Sovereignty.”
Together, we explored the reality of agriculture in Jordan and the daily challenges farmers face, while sharing ideas on the role of the next generation of agricultural engineers in developing practical, innovative solutions that strengthen food sovereignty and protect our agricultural sector. Because what starts as an idea today can help forge our path to food sovereignty tomorrow.

أشجارنا في مواجهة التوسع الاستيطاني|
Our Trees Stand Tall Against Settlement Expansion

في بلدة الشيوخ-الخليل، حيث يتكرر المشهد الصعب من زحف استيطاني واعتداءات لا تتوقف، بين اقتحامات عسكرية وتجريف للأراضي الزراعية وحرق للمنازل ومهاجمة للمزارعين، يواصل الأهالي تمسكهم بأرضهم رغم كل ما يحيط بهم من تحديات.
ونحن أيضاً نواصل تدخلاتنا الميدانية مع شركائنا، فزرعنا مع أدوية الحكمة 2000 شجرة مثمرة على مساحة 47.5 دونم، لصالح 16 عائلة زراعية، إيمانًا بأن دعم المزارعين في المناطق المستهدفة هو خط الدفاع الأول في مواجهة التوسع الاستيطاني.

In the town of Al-Shuyukh, Hebron, advancing settlement expansion and relentless attacks have become oppressive features of everyday life. Amid military raids, the bulldozing of agricultural land, the burning of homes, and assaults on farmers, the community holds firmly to its land in resistance to the many challenges it endures under colonial occupation.

We continue on-the-ground efforts with our partners to keep frontline communities rooted. Together with Hikma Pharmaceuticals, we planted 2,000 fruit trees with 16 farming families across 47.5 dunums of land, guided by the belief that supporting farmers in targeted areas constitutes the first line of defense against settlement expansion.

الاحتلال مستمر بافتعال الحرائق بالأراضي الأردنية.. والتضامن يعيد زراعة الأمل| The Occupation Continues to Deliberately Set Fires to Jordanian Lands, and Solidarity Replants Hope

تتكرر الحرائق التي يفتعلها الاحتلال على امتداد المناطق المحاذية لنهر الأردن، لتصل النيران إلى مزارع الأغوار الأردنية وتخلّف وراءها خسائر فادحة في الأشجار المثمرة وشبكات الري والبنية الزراعية التي تشكل مصدر رزق أساسي للمزارعين كما حدث الأسبوع الماضي في منطقة المشارع والكريمة والمنشية بالاغوار الشمالية. ومع تكرار هذه الحرائق عاماً بعد عام، ولا تقتصر الأضرار على الخسائر المادية فحسب، بل تمتد لتقوّض الإنتاج الزراعي وتهدد استقرار المزارعين وتمسكهم بأرضهم.
وفي مواجهة هذه الاعتداءات المتكررة، نواصل الوقوف إلى جانب المزارعين المتضررين، إيماناً منها بأن حماية الأرض تبدأ بدعم من يزرعها. فكنا دوماً مبادرين بتعويض المتضررين من خلال توزيع مئات الأشجار المثمرة لإعادة إحياء ما أتت عليه النيران، والمساهمة في استعادة الإنتاج الزراعي، وتسليط الضوء على معاناة المزارعين في الأغوار، والتأكيد على أن حماية الأرض والزراعة مسؤولية جماعية تتطلب التضامن والعمل المستمر.

Fires deliberately set by the Israeli occupation have been raging once again along areas bordering the Jordan River, reaching farms in the Jordan Valley. These fires are devastating fruit trees, irrigation networks, and essential agricultural infrastructure – vital lifelines of farmers’ livelihoods. This was the case last week in Al-Mashare’, Al-Karameh, and Al-Manshiyah in the northern Jordan Valley. With these fires recurring year after year, the damage goes beyond material losses, directly undermining agricultural production and threatening rural livelihoods and ability of farmers’ to remain on their land.
In the face of repeated Israeli arson, we continue to stand with affected farmers, guided by the belief that protecting the land begins with supporting those who cultivate it. We have consistently responded by distributing hundreds of fruit trees to help restore what the fires have destroyed, revive agricultural production, and highlight the hardships endured by farmers in the Jordan Valley.
Protecting land and agriculture is a collective responsibility that demands our solidarity and sustained action.

جيل جديد من الأشجار في غزة يتحدى الدمار | A New Generation of Trees in Gaza Defies Destruction

في جنوب غزة، حيث حاول الاحتلال قتل الأرض باقتلاع الأشجار، نواصل برفقة 100 عائلة زراعية كتابة قصة مختلفة عنوانها التحدي والإنتاج. بدأنا بغرس 4000 شجرة من التين والزيتون والعنب، بالشراكة مع متضامنين آمنوا بأن حماية الأرض تبدأ بزراعتها.
هذه الأشجار استثمار طويل الأمد سيؤمن الغذاء والدخل للأسر الزراعية لسنوات قادمة، ويسهم في إعادة تأهيل الأراضي التي دمرها الاحتلال واستعادة دورها الإنتاجي.
لنعيد لغزة أشجارها..

In the south of Gaza, where the occupation has sought to destroy the land by uprooting trees and bombing life-sustaining ecosystems, we are working with 100 farming families to write a different story – one defined by resistance, rootedness and sovereign restoration. We began by planting 4,000 fig, olive, and grape trees in partnership with supporters who believe that protecting the land begins with cultivating it.
These trees represent a long-term commitment to the farmers and people of Gaza, providing food and income for years to come, while helping to restore land damaged by the occupation and bring it back into productive use.
Let’s replant Gaza’s trees.
