On Tuesday December 9,2025, the Transnational Red Sea Center (TRSC) at EPFL in Lausanne had the honor and pleasure to welcome H.E. Mr.Nawaf Wasfi Tell, Ambassador of Jordan to Switzerland, and H.E. Mr.Adnan Talhouni, Chairman of the Swiss Jordanian Business Club, as well as H.E. Mr. Kadra Ahmed Hassan, Ambassador of Djibouti to Switzerland for a presentation of the TRSC’s activities and achievements in favor of the study and conservation of Red Sea corals, five years after the Center was launched in 2019.

They had the opportunity to meet with the workshop’s participants from Jordan and Djibouti, and learn first hand from them about the state of the collaboration between the TRSC and their respective institution: in Jordan the Aqaba Marine Reserve, the Ben Hayyan Laboratories and the Jordan University in Aqaba.

Such a visit was a privileged occasion to underscore the role of science diplomacy in advancing solutions for shared environmental challenges in the Red Sea region, with the support of the Swiss Foreign Ministry and the Swiss embassies on the ground.

It also highlighted and illustrated the « privileged relationship » the TRSC has established with Jordan since 2021, with the support of the Swiss Embassy in Amman and The Swiss Jordanian business Club.
