As 2024 comes to a close, we reflect on the journey of hope, action, and togetherness we have experienced this year. Together, we have made a positive difference in the lives of thousands, supported communities, and stood in solidarity with Gaza in the face of injustice and aggression. As we look to 2025, we hope it will bring new hope, peace, and opportunities. Together, we will continue to empower youth and amplify their voices to create sustainable positive change in our communities. هذا العام، ومع اقتراب نهايته، اخترنا أن نحتفل باليوم العالمي للطفل بطريقة خاصة، حيث قضينا وقتًا مليئًا بالفرح والأمل مع أطفال مخيم الأزرق، الذين يذكروننا يوميًا بأن المستقبل يحمل في طياته إمكانات لا حصر لها.

نؤمن في بلان إنترناشونال بأن لكل طفل الحق في بيئة مليئة بالحب والدعم، بيئة تمنحهم الفرصة للتعلم، والنمو، والازدهار. فهؤلاء الأطفال هم القوة التي تلهمنا لمواصلة العمل من أجل بناء غدٍ أفضل.

As this year comes to a close, we chose to celebrate World Children’s Day in a special way—spending a joyful and hopeful day with the children of Al-Azraq Camp. These children remind us daily that the future holds boundless potential.

At Plan International, we believe that every child deserves a loving and supportive environment—one that enables them to learn, grow, and thrive. These children inspire us to continue working toward a brighter tomorrow.

نفذ مشروع إشراق من مؤسسة بلان انترناشونال، بالتعاون مع تمكين للمساعدة القانونية وحقوق الإنسان و جمعية تطوير وإعمار وادي الاردن، خطوات هامة لمكافحة أسوأ أشكال عمالة الأطفال في محافظتي الزرقاء والبلقاء. ركز المشروع على القضاء على عمالة الأطفال في القطاعات الخطرة وتقديم خدمات حماية شاملة للأطفال والعائلات المعرضة للخطر.

في إطار جهود المشروع، قام مشروع إشراق بتدريب 20 من الإعلاميين على كيفية التغطية الإعلامية الأخلاقية وإنتاج محتوى إعلامي حساس للنوع الاجتماعي حول قضية عمالة الأطفال. زود هذا التدريب الإعلاميين بالمعرفة والمهارات اللازمة لتوثيق قضايا عمالة الأطفال ورفع الوعي حولها. بعد التدريب، تم تنظيم مسابقة لاختيار أفضل المواد الإعلامية المنتجة حول هذا الموضوع المهم.

من خلال هذه المبادرة، سعى المشروع لتمكين المجتمعات المحلية من الوقاية من عمالة الأطفال والرد عليها، وذلك لضمان بيئة آمنة للأطفال وعائلاتهم. تتوفر التحديثات حول المسابقة والجهود المستمرة لحماية حقوق الأطفال في الأردن.

Ishraq Project by Plan International, in collaboration with Tamkeen for legal aid and human rights and the Jordan Valley Development and Reconstruction Association, took significant steps to combat the worst forms of child labour in Zarqa and Balqa. The project focused on eliminating hazardous child labour and providing comprehensive protection services to vulnerable children and communities.

As part of the project's efforts, Ishraq Project trained 20 media professionals on ethical reporting and the creation of gender-sensitive media content on child labour. This training equipped them with the knowledge and skills to effectively document and raise awareness about child labour issues. Following the training, a competition was held to recognize the best media publications on this critical topic.

Through this initiative, the project aimed to empower communities to prevent and respond to child labour, ensuring a safer environment for children and their families. Updates on the competition and ongoing efforts to protect children's rights in Jordan are available.

احتفلنا اليوم باختتام المرحلة الثانية من مشروع “الخطوات الأولى، الخطوة الكبرى”، الممول من مؤسسة فان لير.

نعرب عن امتناننا العميق لشركاء المشروع المخلصين على مشاركتهم الفاعلة في هذا الحدث، بما في ذلك وزارة الصحة الأردنية، والجمعية الملكية للتوعية الصحية، والمجلس الوطني لشؤون الأسرة، ومنظمة 'إنسانية وإدماج'، والمجلس الأردني لاعتماد المؤسسات الصحية.

قدّمت الورشة منصة قيمة للاحتفاء بإنجازات المشروع الرئيسية، والتأمل في الدروس المستفادة، ومناقشة التوصيات العملية لتحقيق مزيد من التقدم. معاً، نخطو خطوات هامة نحو بناء مستقبل أكثر إشراقاً لأطفالنا!

Today, we successfully marked the completion of the second phase of the First Steps, Big Step Project, funded by the Bernard van Leer Foundation Leer Foundation.

We are very grateful to our dedicated project partners for their active participation, including the Ministry of Health, the Royal Health Awareness Society الجمعية الملكية للتوعية الصحية, the National Council for Family Affairs المجلس الوطني لشؤون الأسرة , Humanity and Inclusion, and the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC).

The workshop provided a valuable platform to celebrate our key achievements, reflect on the lessons learned, and discuss actionable recommendations for further progress. Together, we are taking meaningful steps towards building a brighter future for our children!

At Plan International, we are committed to standing with the families of Gaza. Thanks to our partnership with Taawon in Gaza, we’ve been able to deliver 425 food parcels to displaced families in southern Gaza, offering much-needed support.
We reaffirm our call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, and unimpeded humanitarian access to address the catastrophic level of humanitarian needs in Gaza.

نحن ملتزمون في بلان إنترناشونال بالوقوف مع الأسر في غزة؛ وبفضل شراكتنا مع مؤسسة التعاون، تمكّنا من إيصال 425 طرد غذائي للأسر النازحة في جنوب غزة، وتقديم الدعم اللازم لها.

استجابةً لحاجة الشابات والشباب لفهم الجرائم الإلكترونية والتوعية بمخاطرها، وفي إطار الشراكة بين مركز العدل للمساعدة القانونية ومنظمة بلان إنترناشونال ضمن مشروع نجاحنا، تم تنفيذ أربع ورشات توعوية حول الجرائم الإلكترونية. استهدفت هذه الورشات المشاركين في برامج تعزيز التعليم للمتسربين في المناطق المشمولة بالمشروع، وذلك بالتنسيق مع وزارة التربية والتعليم - إدارة التعليم.

تطرقت الورشات الى عدد من المحاور الأساسية، مثل التعريف بالجرائم الإلكترونية وأنواعها، كيفية التصرف السليم في المواقف المختلفة، والعقوبات القانونية المرتبطة بها.

مشروع "نجاحنا"، تحت مظلة بلان إنترناشونال الأردن بتمويل من مؤسسة نوفو نوردسك، يدعم الأردنيين واللاجئين السوريين، خاصة الفتيات، لبناء قدراتهم ومواجهة التحديات الاجتماعية والاقتصادية.

In response to the need for youth to understand cybercrimes and raise awareness about their risks, four awareness workshops on cybercrimes were conducted as part of the partnership between the Justice Center for Legal Aid (JCLA) and Plan International Jordan under the Najahna project. These workshops targeted participants in education enhancement programs for school dropouts in the project's designated areas, in coordination with the Ministry of Education – Education Directorate.

The workshops covered key topics, including an introduction to cybercrimes and their types, proper ways to handle related situations, and the legal penalties associated with such crimes.

"Najahna" project, led by Plan International Jordan and funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation, supports Jordanians and Syrian refugees, especially girls, to build their skills and overcome social and economic challenges.

Yesterday, we celebrated the last day of the 16 Days Against Gender-Based Violence campaign at Al-Azraq Refugee Camp, in collaboration with UNHCR, SRAD (Syrian Refugees Affairs Directorate) and other organizations.

The event featured an inspiring remarks represented from SRAD, UNHCR, and Hamida Jahama, Country Director of Plan International Jordan. Highlights included a youth-led play addressing challenges in women’s economic engagement, youth success stories, and an awards ceremony for the winners of the football and chess tournaments.

Attendees also explored the youth's art gallery and a collection of handmade crafts, showcasing the incredible creativity and skills within the community.

At the end of the visit, our team and colleagues from Plan International Denmark visited entrepreneurs supported by Najahna project to learn about their achievements.

احتفلنا البارحة باختتام حملة الـ16 يوم لمناهضة العنف ضد المرأة في مخيم الأزرق للاجئين، بالشراكة مع المفوضية السامية للأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين، ومديرية شؤون اللاجئين السوريين، والمنظمات العاملة في المخيم.

تضمن الحفل كلمة ملهمة ألقاها؛ مديرية شؤون اللاجئين السوريين، والمفوضية السامية للأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين، والأستاذة حميدة جهامة، المديرة القُطرية لمنظمة بلان إنترناشونال الأردن. كما اشتمل الحفل على عرض مسرحي قدمه الشباب حول المشاركة الاقتصادية للمرأة، وتم الاختتام بتسليط الضوء على قصص نجاح ملهمة من الشباب وتكريم الفائزين من فريق كرة القدم في المخيم وفي مسابقة الشطرنج.

و اطلع الحضور أيضاً على معرض الفنون الذي ضم أعمالاً فنية للشباب، ومجموعة من الحرف اليدوية، الذي يعكس الإبداع والعمل المميز داخل المجتمع.

و أخيراً، قام فريقنا برفقة زملائنا من بلان إنترناشونال الدنمارك، بزيارة رواد الأعمال المدعومين من مشروع نجاحنا للتعرف على انجازاتهم.

تعرف على وفاء حمدان، شابة سورية من حمص، صنعت من الإصرار طريقاً للنجاح.

رغم التحديات الكثيرة التي واجهتها بعد التوجيهي (الثانوية العامة)، وعدم حصولها على منحة جامعية رغم تفوقها، لم تتخلّ عن حلمها. عادت لهوايتها في الخياطة وطورتها لتصبح مشروع ناجح بدعم من مشروع نجاحنا من بلان انترناشونال. وبعد مضي خمس سنوات، لم تفقد الأمل. اليوم، وفاء طالبة في الجامعة، تدرس تخصص أحلامها، وتؤكد أن السعي المستمر والعمل الجاد هما مفتاح تحقيق الأحلام.

قصة وفاء رسالة لكل فتاة: لا تدعي الصعوبات توقفك عن تحقيق أحلامك، فالمستقبل يُصنع بالإرادة والعمل.

Meet Wafaa Hamdan, a young Syrian woman from Homs who turned determination into a path to success.

Despite facing several challenges after completing her secondary education with good score, including not being able to finance her education or secure a scholarship, Wafaa never gave up on her dream. She returned to her passion for sewing and developed it into a successful project with the support of Najahna project, implemented by Plan International. Even after five years, she never lost hope. Today, Wafaa is a university student pursuing her dream major, proving that perseverance and hard work are the keys to achieving goals.

Wafaa’s story is a message to every girl: don’t let obstacles stand in the way of your dreams. The future is built with willpower and hard work.

On Saturday, December 7, we successfully concluded a dynamic 3-day workshop, bringing together over 90 participants from ministries, civil society, INGOs, and UN organizations to develop actionable plans for implementing Jordan’s 2024 Universal Periodic Review (UPR) recommendations. During the workshop, participants collaborated on strategies across 10 key thematic areas: women’s rights, children’s rights, youth, rights of people with disabilities, refugees, labor, media and civil society, environment and sustainable development, healthcare and education, and access to justice.

Hamida Jahama, Country Director of Plan International Jordan, emphasized the essential role of empowering both young men and women to drive lasting, positive change in their communities. She stressed that fostering youth engagement is key to amplifying their commitment to human rights and social justice, ensuring these values are reflected throughout Jordan.
Dr. Khalil Abdallat, Director of the Human Rights Unit, emphasized the significance of establishing a timeline and precise measurement indicators to guarantee the intended outcomes and that ongoing evaluation will serve as the foundation for raising performance and increasing transparency.. This workshop was a collaborative effort between our She Leads project and the Human Rights Unit at the Prime Ministry of Jordan. The She Leads project is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.

إفتتاح ورشة عمل التخطيط لتنفيذ توصيات الإستعراض الدوري الشامل الرابع 2024 والذي تنظمه وحدة حقوق الإنسان في رئاسة الوزراء وبلان إنترناشونال الأردن بمشاركة مختلف الوزارات والمؤسسات الحكومية والمجتمع المدني والمنظمات الدولية والمانحة تعقد الورشة على مدار 3 ايام من 5-7 كانون الأول 2024 في البحر الميت، وتهدف لتصميم خطة عمل تشاركية واليات متابعة وتقييم لتنفيذ توصيات حقوق الإنسان ال204 التي قبلتها الأردن. تعقد هذه الفعالية تحت مظلة مشروع ’هي تقود’ والذي تنفذه منظمة بلان انترناشونال.
