Today, at the headquarters of Da'em Association for Women's Empowerment, an awareness lecture entitled "Digital Prevention: Protection and Empowerment" was held, organized by the Waee Center for Human Rights Training in cooperation with the Danish Institute for Human Rights, and in the presence of the Institute's Director, Ms. Kholoud Shokhafra.
The event opened with a welcoming speech delivered by the Director of the Waee Center for Human Rights Training, lawyer Taghreed Al-Doghmi, who shed light on the importance of the initiative and the pivotal role of female lawyers in raising legal and human rights awareness among women, and enhancing their ability to face technology-related challenges.
Ms. Kholoud Shokhafra also spoke about the importance of the developmental role in protecting women from digital crimes that limit freedom of movement and expression, leading to their withdrawal from the public sphere, which reduces the quality of community partnership and cultural enrichment.
The lecture was delivered by lawyer Maram Mghalseh, a member of the "Female Lawyers to Combat Digital Violence Against Women Using Technology" initiative, focusing on several main themes, including:
Defining the risks of digital violence and how to monitor unsafe actions across the digital space.
Presenting practical guidelines and preventive measures to avoid exposure to technological risks.
Clarifying reporting mechanisms and recourse to official and safe legal authorities to deal with any digital violation while ensuring privacy protection.
This lecture comes as part of ongoing efforts to enhance community awareness, legally empower women, and create a safe, digitally-aware environment capable of facing various contemporary challenges.
