Tamkeen is a Jordanian, non-governmental, independent civil society organization, founded in 2007 specialized in labour, migration, and combating human trafficking. Tamkeen adopts in its work a human rights-based approach in order to reach durable solutions that contribute to the promotion and protection of Jordanian, migrant and refugee workers’ human rights, and the rights of human trafficking victims.

تواجه الزراعة تحديات متزايدة نتيجة ارتفاع تكاليف الإنتاج وصعوبة وصول صغار المزارعين إلى المدخلات الزراعية بأسعار مناسبة.
وتوفر الجمعيات التعاونية الزراعية نموذجاً جماعياً يساعد على مواجهة هذه التحديات من خلال الشراء المشترك للبذور والأسمدة والأعلاف، وتقاسم استخدام المعدات والآلات، وتنظيم الموارد بكفاءة أكبر.
إلا أن تحقيق هذه المزايا يتطلب إدارة شفافة للأصول المشتركة، وآليات واضحة لضمان عدالة الاستفادة بين الأعضاء، بما يحول التعاونيات إلى أدوات اقتصادية قادرة على رفع تنافسية القطاع الزراعي.
Agriculture faces growing challenges due to rising production costs and the difficulties smallholder farmers experience in accessing agricultural inputs at affordable prices.
Agricultural cooperatives offer a collective model for addressing these challenges through the joint purchasing of seeds, fertilisers, and animal feed; the shared use of equipment and machinery; and more efficient resource management.
However, achieving these benefits requires transparent management of shared assets and clear mechanisms to ensure that all members benefit equitably. This can transform cooperatives into effective economic instruments capable of enhancing the agricultural sector’s competitiveness

ومن خلال تعزيز الحوكمة، تستطيع التعاونيات تطوير قدراتها، وفتح فرص جديدة في الأسواق، وتحقيق عوائد أفضل للمزارعين والاقتصاد الوطني.

إلا أن نجاح هذا النموذج يعتمد على وجود حوكمة تضمن عدالة توزيع المنافع، وشفافية إدارة الموارد، وتمكين جميع الأعضاء من الاستفادة من الفرص المتاحة.
Smallholder farmers face multiple challenges, ranging from rising production costs to limited access to markets, finance, and technology.
Cooperatives provide a collective framework that helps farmers overcome these challenges by pooling resources, sharing costs, and increasing their bargaining power.

Amid global challenges related to food security and market volatility, agricultural cooperatives play an important role in strengthening the agricultural sector’s resilience.
By bringing together the efforts of small-scale producers, cooperatives help improve production, reduce costs, and enhance access to markets.
However, fulfilling this role requires effective institutional management that ensures the optimal use of resources and enables cooperatives to become genuine partners in agricultural development and national food security.
