On Day 3 of the Training on Artificial Intelligence and Electoral Administration, participants strengthened their practical skills in prompt engineering through a session led by Ghassen Selmi and Paul Semaan, Digital Transformation Specialists at UNDP.
This was followed by a session on detecting AI-generated text, images, audio and video, led by Osama Aljaber, Global Digital Democracy Specialist at UNDP. Participants then worked together to apply their learning through a practical exercise on managing the AI lifecycle and developing roadmaps for responsible AI adoption in electoral administration, facilitated by Jennifer Louie, Paul Semaan and Ghassen Selmi.
The three-day training concluded with closing remarks by H.E. Musa Maaytah, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission of Jordan, and Najia Hashemee, Advisor on Democratic Institutions and Processes in the Digital Era at UNDP.

On Day 2 of the Training on Artificial Intelligence and Electoral Administration, participants explored practical applications of AI across the electoral cycle with Chahine Hamila, Senior Digital Transformation Advisor at UNDP, followed by sessions on testing, red teaming and the safe deployment of AI systems, and AI incident management, escalation paths and human oversight with Jennifer Louie, AI Trust and Safety Advisor at UNDP.

The day concluded with the INE Mexico experience, led by José Alberto Pérez de Acha, General Coordinator of the Information Technology Services Unit at INE, sharing how institutional governance arrangements supported the successful deployment and use of AI.

Training on Artificial Intelligence and Electoral Administration
participants explored Understanding AI with Osama Aljaber, Global Digital Democracy Specialist; When and How Should an EMB Use AI? with Chahine Hamila, Senior Digital Transformation Advisor at UNDP; and Managing the AI Lifecycle with Ghassen Selmi, Digital Transformation and Media Specialist at UNDP.
The day also featured the INE Mexico experience with Norma Irene de la Cruz Magaña, Electoral Councillor at the National Electoral Institute of Mexico (INE), offering practical insights and lessons from the use of AI in electoral administration.

From the first day of the Training on Artificial Intelligence and Electoral Administration in Amman.

Today’s sessions explored Understanding AI, When and How Should an EMB Use AI?, and Managing the AI Lifecycle, alongside the INE Mexico experience, which provided a valuable space for exchange among electoral management bodies around practical lessons, institutional approaches, and the use of AI in electoral administration.

Electoral management bodies from Iraq المفوضية العليا المستقلة للانتخابات,
Palestine لجنة الانتخابات المركزية-فلسطين Central Elections Commission-Palestine, Tunisia Instance Supérieure Indépendante pour les Élections - ISIE, and Libya المفوضية الوطنية العليا للانتخابات - High National Elections Commission are participating in a three-day Training on Artificial Intelligence and Electoral Administration.
Hosted by the Independent Election Commission of Jordan الهيئة المستقلة للانتخاب - الأردن, the training is supported by the UNDP ASPIRE project, Embassy of Sweden in Amman, in partnership with INE México, which is sharing its practical experience and lessons learned in applying AI to electoral administration.

Over the three days, participants are exploring practical uses of AI across the electoral cycle, alongside key considerations around governance, risks, human oversight and responsible adoption.

Highlights from the Jordan–Mexico South-South Dialogue 🇯🇴🇲🇽

The dialogue was organized with the support of Ruba Matarneh, an alumna of the Marrakesh 2025 Global Academy.

The initiative was attended by Jordanian Academy alumnae Samar Tarawneh, Sana Al Emam, Nahla Al Momani, Shatha Alawneh and Abeer Basheir, bringing together alumnae from different Academy editions to reconnect and exchange experiences.

We were also pleased to welcome the Embassy of Sweden in Amman , whose support contributes to ASPIRE’s work on advancing inclusive political participation and women’s leadership across the region

Women Leading Political Change: A Jordan–Mexico South-South Dialogue 🇯🇴🇲🇽

Women leaders from Jordan and Mexico came together at The University of Jordan for an inspiring South-South Dialogue on advancing women’s political participation and leadership.

The discussion brought together Norma Irene de la Cruz Magaña, Amal Awadeh, MP Dina Al Bashir, Dr. Aya Al Asmar, and Ms. Abla Abu Olbeh, sharing perspectives and experiences on overcoming barriers, strengthening women’s leadership, and creating more inclusive spaces for women in political and public life.

Organized through the Global Leadership Academy for Women in the Digital Era, under UNDP’s ASPIRE initiative, the dialogue highlighted the power of peer learning, cross-country exchange, and collective advocacy in advancing women’s meaningful political participation.

A meaningful exchange connecting experiences from Jordan and Mexico and turning dialogue into stronger networks, shared learning, and action.

Women Leading Political Change: A Jordan–Mexico South-South Dialogue 🇯🇴🇲🇽

Today at The University of Jordan - الجامعة الأردنية , the Global Leadership Academy for Women in the Digital Era, under UNDP’s ASPIRE initiative, is bringing together women leaders from Jordan and Mexico for a South-South Dialogue on women’s political participation.

The dialogue brings together Norma Irene de la Cruz Magaña, Amal Awadeh, MP Dina Al Bashir, Dr. Aya Al Asmar, and Ms. Abla Abu Olbeh to exchange experiences on breaking barriers, strengthening women’s leadership, and expanding women’s meaningful participation in political and public life.

The Dialogue contributes to ASPIRE’s work on advancing women’s electoral and political participation, promoting dialogue, peer learning and advocacy across countries and institutions.

Hosted in Panama from 30 June to 2 July 2026, the Women’s Leadership Academy for the Digital Era – Regional Edition for Latin America officially launched, bringing together women leaders from across the region for three days of learning, collaboration, and innovation.

These photos capture highlights from the first and second days of the Academy, showcasing engaging discussions, collaborative learning, and inspiring exchanges as participants explored leadership, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation.
