Dear Family, Friends, Church Members, and Advent Light Ministry Prayer Line Supporters,
On behalf of Edith Moore Powell, also known as “Sista,” and the entire team, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone both locally and internationally for your incredible support, whether through financial contributions or physical presence, toward Sista’s Annual Back to School Treat.
For over Four decades, your commitment has been paramount to the success of this empowering and life-changing event. Rain or shine, you consistently show up, ready to take on every task—from packing book bags with supplies and assembling snack boxes, to setting up decorations, putting up tents, managing lighting, preparing food, and even cleaning up after the event.
This year, over two hundred and fifty children were gifted with book bags filled with school supplies, toiletries, washcloths, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and deodorant.
The children enjoyed a day filled with prayer, songs, and a variety of fun activities, including the viral TikTok matching challenge, prizes, cake 🎂 ice cream and a bounce house.
It was a tremendous blessing to honor over twenty-four men and women from the Red Hills Community with the “You Make a Difference Award,” recognizing their unwavering dedication to this remarkable event.
A special Thanks to the Burnside Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church and the Red Hills Police Station for their invaluable support. Your contributions have greatly enhanced the success of this event.
