The Joshua Ramsay Cure and Conquer Foundation will commit to raising awareness of childhood cancers, and attempt to capitalize on opportunities to offer moral support to children who are diagnosed with cancer. The Joshua Ramsay Cure and Conquer Foundation Ltd, registered CA100-1569C on March 9, 2020 as a charitable organization in Jamaica; was established in honour of Joshua Ramsay, who passed on

September 10, 2019, at the age of 9 years, after a 5 years battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Given the task to fight against childhood cancers, the Foundation will commit to raising awareness of childhood cancers and attempt to capitalize on opportunities to offer moral support to children living in Jamaica who have been diagnosed with cancer. To be one of 37 Jamaican men nominated this year and awarded at the 2024 Outstanding Fathers Award Ceremony, is indeed an honour.
The ceremony was held last Friday at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel, hosted by the Bureau of Gender Affairs, and the presentation was made by the Hon. Olivia Grange, OJ,CD, GCSE, MP.
I am sincerely appreciative of such consideration and some may even say, deservedly so.

Receiving such an award though, with a portion of the brain tumor still lingering beneath my skull, came with mixed emotions.

Unfortunately, a medical decision was made, in my best interest, during the Craniotomy Brain Surgery procedure on March 18th. So as to not affect my cognitive abilities and motor skills, not all the tumor was removed.
The remaining portion of tumor requires radiotherapy to remove it totally and prevent any possibility of another regrowth. This radiation therapy process has an estimated timeline of 27 working days for completion, however, a date to commence the treatment is not yet confirmed.
Until then, I remain humble and ever thankful for the progress that has been made thus far. The healing journey continues and as always, I am trusting for the best possible outcome.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

To all the Mothers of children who continue to courageously fight childhood cancers.

To all the Mothers who have fought relentlessly with their child, during the child's unfortunate journey with cancer.

Today is yours to celebrate how you have positively impacted the care and growth of your child or children.

Some mothers do mourn this day because of how cancer has taken its toll on their child and family. Hence, a day of mixed emotions especially those who have lost a child to cancer.

Dear Mothers, take the time nonetheless to reminisce on the good you have done, and garner strength from the process and hardship you have endured.

Our courageous Childhood Cancer Warriors live meaningful lives because of your unwavering care and love for them. You are phenomenal and irreplaceable.

Eternal blessings and universal love to all.

Today is exactly one month since the Craniotomy Brain Surgery was done; a procedure which lasted about 9 hours.
I am not in the best of health but it's not the worst and I am sincerely grateful to be alive.

The staples were removed from the wound about two weeks ago.
Occasionally I have headaches which is expected, however, the recovery and healing process is going very well.

I truly appreciate all concerns!!!

A 2nd Craniotomy Brain Surgery, within a 3 years period.

The Craniotomy with Resection of Meningioma with Duraplasty, was successfully undertaken on Monday March18th, at the Tony Thwaites Wing at the University Hospital of the West Indies, Jamaica.

I was released from the hospital Thursday afternoon and will remain outpatient for a couple of days. Until then, I will trust the process to continue making daily progress by FAITH.

Hats off to Dr. Mark Morgan and his medical team for successfully completing this procedure.

I am sincerely grateful and appreciative of all the prayers, love, support, and well wishes.

Firstly, I must apologize to my Childhood Cancer community. We haven't interacted in awhile and unfortunately I have not been in the best of health lately.

Three years ago I did a Craniotomy after being diagnosed with a brain tumor, Frontal Parasagittal Meningioma, in December 2020.
I have been doing MRI scans every 6 months since then.
Last year February, an MRI scan revealed that there is a regrowth of the tumor at the same spot.
The most recent MRI scan done January this year, shows tumor growth at a second spot to the left of the frontal lobe of the brain.

With that said, I am scheduled for another Craniotomy with Resection of Meningioma with Duraplasty, to be done on March 11th, 2024.

Thankfully the tumor is not cancerous, but it is life-threathening nonetheless.

Yes, there are high hopes and strong faith that this surgery will be as successful as was the one done in February 2021.

I appreciate everyone's concern, encouragement, and prayers. Please understand though that I will not be able to respond to every message or call, especially as it gets closer to the proposed date for the surgery.

I continue to be real, transparent, and optimistic.

I love my Childhood Cancer family and I trust we will be able to link up pretty soon.

Our amazing childhood cancer family enjoyed every second spent at Buzzers Gaming Arcade on Saturday.
The 3rd edition of "Warriors Link Up" was very refreshing. The happy smiles were quite visible.
The enthusiasm and engagement of both Warriors and their parents was just amazing.
We are already looking forward to next year!!!

Thanks again to the Team at Buzzers Gaming Arcade for accommodating us for a 3rd consecutive year.

A very special "Thank You" also to our courageous Childhood Cancer Warriors and their parents who came out and made the event even more meaningful.

This Saturday October 14th beginning at 12pm, the Joshua Ramsay Cure and Conquer Foundation will be hosting our 3rd Edition of "Warriors Link Up" at Buzzers Gaming Arcade in Portmore.
Like the previous outings, we are anticipating a fun-filled day out with our Childhood Cancer family.

Such a sweet little princess and she needs all the support possible.
4 years old Dahnelia Davis is diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia: a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. This cancer occurs when the bone marrow produces a large number of immature white blood cells (lymphoblasts). The immature and abnormal lymphoblasts grow quickly and replace normal cells in the bone marrow, hence affecting the production of healthy red blood cells and platelets.
Dahnelia is currently a patient at the Bustamante Hospital for Children in Jamaica and has been receiving chemotherapy treatments since her diagnosis last July.
Her complications have surmounted and after 6 months of chemotherapy, her Doctor indicated the need for her to do a b Bone Marrow Transplant.
Jamaica's inability to undergo the required Bone Marrow Transplant, means that Dahnelia will have to travel overseas to get the treatment that is recommended for her survival.

Dahnelia and her mom Melecia Clarke are in dire need of our support.

Our 2nd year of "Warriors Link Up" at Buzzers Gaming Arcade in Portmore.

A well deserved treat yesterday for our amazing childhood cancer warriors.

The day was well spent and our little warriors had a blast.

The caregivers who attended were just as engaged and enthused. 🤗🤗

Semptember is recognized globally as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and so we use this opportunity to extend our moral support to children diagnosed with cancer.

Remember the gold ribbon 🎗 is the symbol for childhood cancers.
Remember to advocate and give support to our Childhood Cancer Warriors.
