Today, the Alligator Head Foundation joined The Nature Conservancy’s World Ocean Day Expo at the Pegasus Hotel in Kingston, where Dr. Dexter-Dean Colquhoun, Research Programme Manager, showcased the Foundation’s work under the CoralCarib project.

The event provided an excellent platform to highlight ongoing coral reef restoration and resilience-building efforts being implemented with support from the International Climate Initiative (IKI), while engaging with partners, students, and members of the public on the importance of protecting Jamaica’s marine ecosystems.

The programme featured remarks from The Nature Conservancy’s Jamaica Programme Director, Donna Oniss Blake, and German Ambassador Jan Hendrick van Thiel, along with presentations from representatives of the Ministry of Water, Environment and Climate Change (Oceans and Blue Economy Division), NEPA, the National Fisheries Authority, the Forestry Department, and the GraceKennedy Foundation.

CoralCarib is supported by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) on behalf of the German Federal Government.
