SI Western continues to stand with the clients of the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences & Child Abuse (CISOCA), providing comfort and support to children and families during very difficult moments.

In March 2025, alongside our regular donations of snacks and water, we shared 12 handmade teddy bears kindly donated by Past President of Soroptimist International Great Britain and Ireland (SIGBI), Cathy Cottridge. These bears are a small but meaningful way to bring comfort, reassurance, and a sense of care to young clients at CISOCA.

Everyone deserves to feel safe and heard online. Let's build that space together! As we conclude our 16 Days of Activism to End Online Violence Against All Women and Girls, remember that this work doesn't end today. Thank you for being part of this movement. Together, we can create digital communities where everyone—regardless of gender, identity, or background—can participate fully and safely online.

Clear, modern laws can help stop online violence before it spreads. Effective legislation should focus on prevention through education and deterrence, provide swift justice pathways for survivors, and ensure consequences that match the severity of digital crimes. This means updating existing laws to reflect the realities of online harm, training law enforcement and judiciary on digital abuse, and creating specialised courts or procedures for handling these cases efficiently. Modern problems require modern legal solutions.

Everyone can speak up to help others feel safe online. You don't need to be an expert or activist to make a difference. Whether you're challenging a harmful comment, supporting someone being harassed, or sharing educational content, your voice has power. Every person who chooses to speak up instead of staying silent helps shift online culture toward kindness and respect.

Spreading awareness and supporting others improves online safety for the entire community. Supporting someone through online abuse might mean helping them document evidence, connecting them with resources, or simply listening without judgment. Remember, collective action creates lasting change.

Use reporting tools to flag abuse or harassment whenever you encounter it. Whether you're the target or a witness, reporting harmful behaviour is crucial for online safety. Reporting isn't just about individual cases; it helps platforms understand patterns of abuse and improve their safety systems.
