The Kylie Olivia Laila Stevens Foundation, also referred to as KOLS, is a non-profit organization which aims to bring awareness to the Jamaican people about our failing health care system especially as it relates to premature babies. We hope to obtain ventilators and other medical equipment to be distributed to Hospitals Island wide. We further aim to open a hospital with the sole purpose of treat
ing premature babies to allow them a fighting chance at life. The foundation was inspired by a precious angel, Kylie Olivia Laila Stevens, who was born premature and faced various challenges throughout her short life. Due to the lack of ventilators and even space at hospitals in Jamaica, Kylie was unable to receive the immediate treatment she needed in order to recover and leave the hospital with her parents. This unfortunate ordeal and its massive impact inspired her mother to start this foundation so even though she is no longer with us, she will be able to help others like her and hopefully inspire others as well.
