WELCOME!

The Jamaica Dental Association (JDA) has provided an annual convention since its inception in 1959. The Jamaica Dental Association hosted its first dental convention in 1964 at the Kingston Sheraton Hotel. It was hosted by a small group of enterprising dentists with a passion for excellence paralleling the dental care of First World countries. 2019 marks its fifty fifth year.

The JDA provides a convention annually to give the local dental professionals an opportunity to keep up to date with the scientific and technological advancements in Dentistry. The dental landscape in Jamaica is changing rapidly with the introduction of mandatory continuing dental education credit hours to renew practicing certificates for local dentists. With the establishment of two dental schools that are graduating their first class this year, there will be a demand for quality continuing education for young dental graduates. There is a need now to provide a platform for the dental students to do oral presentations, posters and table clinics to hone their skills in dental research and public speaking.

The 56th Annual convention will take place February 12-15, 2020 at Mélia Braco Village Resort, Trelawny (Montego Bay Tourism Zone), Jamaica. The theme for 2020 will be Unlocking Your Inner Greatness!
