Caribbean Youth Environment Network in Jamaica

Caribbean Youth Environment Network in Jamaica CYEN in Jamaica National Chapter is an extension of a larger Caribbean-wide network headquartered in Barbados.

For more information, visit: https://www.facebook.com/CYENCaribbean/info
or at https://www.cyen.org/ CYEN is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation that focuses its resources on empowering young citizens of the Caribbean and their communities to develop programmes/actions to address socio-economic and environmental issues. CYEN's programmes aim to address issues such as poverty alleviation,

youth employment, health, climate change, biodiversity, disaster resilience, integrated water resources management, waste management and other natural resource management issues in the context of sustainable development. CYEN views youth as an important and critical development resource. It is dedicated to developing strategies to engage and facilitate their participation in the development process. CYEN defines young people as anyone within the 15-32 age group. However, it is supportive of the transitional approach to youth development, which is articulated by the World Bank and agencies within the UN System (World Development Report, 2001; World Youth Report, 2005).

Today is World Water Day💧🎉

CYEN (Jamaica)🇯🇲 responded to the impacts of Hurricane Melissa with a WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) initiative: Clean & Confident: Hurricane Relief Initiative for Women & Girls👩👧.

Our first phase focused on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM), and this is work we’re committed to continuing.

We'd however love to hear your take on it, do you think water impacts Menstrual Hygiene Management
(MHM)?

We also asked a few young people, swipe to see what they have to say.👀
