The Rescue Package Foundation

The Rescue Package Foundation The Rescue Package Foundation (RPF) is a small non-profit organization that seeks to care for the needs of the less fortunate within the Jamaican society.

The Foundation has been in operation for the past seven years but was officially registered in May 2009 and has undertaken the role of providing assistance to children within various communities. To date most of our efforts have been geared towards the residents of the Dare to Care facility within Mustard Seed Community in Spanish Town; which caters to eighty children, ages 3 to 19 years, who are

infected with the HIV virus. Recently we have also undertaken a school feeding programme that provides lunch for two basic schools within inner city communities, namely Caring Basic in Payne Land and Majestic Gardens Basic School.

At the Rescue Package Foundation (RPF), our slogan is more than just a phrase.

“Caring Hearts, Helping Hands” is the foundation of everything we do.

It represents the deep empathy we hold for the most vulnerable members of our Jamaican society, and the physical action we take to uplift them.

A caring heart allows us to see the struggles of our youth and our elderly, but it is the helping hands that deliver the resources, time, and support they need to navigate life with dignity.

Our most recent Rescue The Nation mission took us to the Wesley Methodist Church in Brown’s Town, St. Ann. Faith always aligns our path with where we are needed most.

This journey was planned well in advance to serve a community outside of our usual reach in St. Andrew, after one of our dedicated volunteers saw a pressing need there. However, during our planning phase, everything shifted.

The devastating hit from Hurricane Mellissa meant we had to expand our focus from serving just the elderly to supporting all community members.

It hit our team hard to see so many people without the basic resources they needed to survive. While we are not yet in a position to provide building materials, we knew we had to help in other ways. We focused our efforts on donating food, clothes, shoes, medicine and essential household supplies to help these families get back on their feet so they can continue helping themselves.

Take a trip back in time with us to 2016.

Our journey took us to the amazing Dupont Primary and Infant School with a mission: to stock their student library and make a real difference for the youth in our community.

But we didn’t just want to drop off books. The night before the donation, after long days of work and handling home chores, the RPF team met up at the school. We spent the evening wrapping every single book by hand to ensure they would stand the test of time.

Knowing that some of those very same books are still being used today, giving children hope one page at a time, makes every late night completely worth it.

“As a foundation, we are honored to serve communities across our nation. This journey has taught us so much, and we remain committed to being His hands and feet on the earth. It’s a privilege to be used in this way, and we are truly grateful.

‘And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.’ — Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)”
